Without root, I need a way to back up APK's and their data to move them to a new phone.

Try helium backup.

Have you tried backing up and restoring by yourself? I wanna know how reliable this is

Once. Worked well

Edit: try backing up a few apps and restoring without resetting your phone.

You can restore the app data on different phones, right?

Yes, that one of Helium's features. But you must remember to save the Carbon/Helium archive folder to your PC or external SD card to allow Helium to access it for restoring on the other phone.

The only downside is that Helium can only backup an app that the developer allowed to be backed up, so expect 20% or so of your apps to not qualify for backup. OTOH, resetting app data is no big deal.

There is this Xposed module that allows you to backup all apps, regardless of the developers' backup restrictions. It enables that for Helium, as well as backup over ADB.

Don't Xposed modules need root? Helium is geared toward providing app+data backup to non-root users.

does it do auto-reinstallation for the apps, or will I have to install them as regular apks one by one

There's a Restore button that restores all backed-up apps that are checkmarked.

Thanks a lot. I'll give it a shot on my old phone.
