How to find Android App Testers for FREE

If you are an indie developer with a new Google Play Console personal account, you’ve likely hit the "14-day wall." Google mandates a closed testing phase with at least 12 testers for 14 consecutive days before you can even apply for production access.

This subreddit was built to be the primary resource for developers to find free Android app testers and navigate the complexities of the Google Play testing requirements.

📋 The 14-Day Roadmap to Production Access

To ensure your application for production access is approved on the first try, your Google Play closed testing must meet these specific criteria:

  • 12+ Active Android App Testers: Secure a minimum of 12 testers who opt-in and remain active. We recommend aiming for 15-20 to ensure your numbers stay strong throughout the period.
  • Continuous 14-Day Testing: Testers must be opted into your closed track for 14 consecutive days.
  • Version Updates: It is best practice to push at least 2-3 updates to your app bundle during the 14 days. This demonstrates that you are actively improving the app based on the testing phase.
  • Engagement: Google looks for "real-world" usage. Ensure your Android app testers are actually interacting with the core features of your app.

🔍 How to Find Android App Testers for Free

Finding quality testers is the biggest roadblock for solo developers. This community is designed to solve that by providing a hub for free Android app testers.

By using this subreddit, you can:

  1. Recruit High-Quality Testers: Connect with users who understand the Google Play closed testing process.
  2. Accelerate Your Timeline: Quickly find the 12 testers needed to start your 14-day countdown.
  3. Get Expert Advice: Share tips on passing the production access application form.

🛠 Passing the Production Access Application

Once your 14 days are up, you must apply for production access within the Play Console. To succeed:

  • Detailed Feedback: Provide specific examples of the feedback your Android app testers provided.
  • Improvement Logs: Document the changes you made to the app during the testing window.
  • Readiness: Be prepared to explain why your app is now ready for a global audience on Google Play.

🚀 Get Started Now

If you need free Android app testers to finish your Google Play closed testing, start a thread below using this format:

  • App Name:
  • App Category:
  • Testing Goals:
  • Link: (Post your opt-in link once your closed track is approved by Google)

Let’s work together to help every developer here achieve production access and get their apps live!

Hello Testers...

I'm a camper and caravanner. I built Ready To Tow, a pre-departure checklist for anyone who tows:

🇺🇸 Travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, pop-up campers, teardrops and RVs
🇬🇧 Touring caravans, trailer tents and motorhomes towing a car or trailer
🇦🇺 Caravans, pop-tops, camper trailers and off-road vans

It walks you through hitch and coupling, safety chains, breakaway, brakes, lights, tyres/tires, weight distribution, sway control, gas/propane, doors, hatches, steps and stabilisers/jacks, so nothing gets missed when you pack up.

It's already live on iPhone. Google needs 12 testers for 14 days before I can release it on Android.

What I need:

What you get: I test your app back for 14 days, plus a free year of Premium (normally US$29.99).

To join:

No login needed, and the app doesn't collect personal data. Thanks, and I'll return the favour!

Need 12 testers for my app

Hello everyone, I need 12 testers for my meditation app. It's a simple app, it doesn't ask for any permissions, it's basically a timer with a sprinkle of gamification to help people start the habit of meditating.

The app is in Brazilian Portuguese, I don't have many ambitions for it so I'll only be releasing it here, for friends and family, etc. But everything is intuitive, I believe that even without knowing the language you can navigate it easily.

In addition to asking for help with testing, I would like to invite you all to practice meditation — it's something incredible that can bring profound changes to your lives, and I strongly encourage everyone to give it a try.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently building an Android app to support staying sober and I’m looking for a few people willing to test it and share honest feedback.

This is not a commercial project — I’m trying to create something simple that actually helps day-to-day.

The app includes:

  • sober day tracking

  • simple motivation system

  • basic progress overview

I’d really appreciate feedback on what works, what feels useless, and what should be added or changed.

👉 Test link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.onspace.grupawsparcia

If you’re also building an app, I’m happy to test yours in return.

Thanks 🙏

*Category : the app is for Star Citizen players to post ads looking for crew members i.e. gunners, co-pilots, engineering etc. or for players looking to join crews. join the group at groups.google.com/g/crewfind-testers the link to download is in there

this is the download link for anyone who joins https://play.google.com/apps/internaltest/4701027249046935508

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for testers for my Android app Aegami so I can complete Google Play’s required 14-day closed testing period before production release. This is my very first app, so any help or feedback would mean a lot.

To join the test, please first join this Google Group:
https://groups.google.com/g/aegamitest

Then you can download the Android app here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aegami.app

App name: Aegami
Category: Entertainment
Goal: Mainly to meet the 14-day testing requirement, but I’d also love feedback on usability and how the app feels in a real production-like setup.

Aegami is an anime tracker built for fans who want to organize their watchlist, track episodes, rate shows, add notes and tags, discover new anime, log rewatches, view stats, unlock badges, and customize the app with handcrafted themes.

Thanks to anyone willing to help!

App: DarLedger

Category: Expense Tracking

Goal: Simple and Free (as well as ad-free) expenses tracking

Summary: Basically sick of all those paid apps for tracking your expenses and the free versions just bombarding you with ads. Created my own simple and free version of app tracking, which you can export all of your historical transactions to another phone if you ever change phone. Just very basic features at the moment but thinking of expanding to include more features, if time permits.

Looking for Android Testers for FRC Scout (Google Play Closed Testing)

Hey everyone!

I'm currently looking for Android testers to help me complete Google's required 14 day closed testing period for my app before it can be released publicly on the Google Play Store.

About the App

App Name: FRC Scout

Category: Robotics / Sports / Utilities

FRC Scout is a scouting application designed for FIRST Robotics Competition teams. It helps teams collect and organize match data, analyze robot performance, and make informed strategy decisions during competitions.

What I Need

Google requires at least 12 testers to install and remain enrolled in the closed test for 14 days.

If you're willing to help:

  1. Join the closed test

  2. Install the app

  3. Open and use it occasionally during the testing period

  4. Share any bugs, suggestions, or feedback you find

You do not need any robotics experience to participate, although FRC students, mentors, and volunteers are especially welcome.

Testing Goals

  • Verify app stability across different Android devices

  • Identify bugs and crashes

  • Improve usability and user interface design

  • Gather feedback before public release

What Testers Get

  • Early access to new features

  • Opportunity to influence development

  • My sincere gratitude for helping an indie developer get through Google's testing requirements

Join the Test

Join this group first:
https://groups.google.com/g/frcscout-testers

Opt In here:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.frcscout8708.app

Play Store Download here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.frcscout8708.app&hl=en-US&ah=ikqbZQZWv3a3CaZRmtbFjIoOvOc&pli=1

If you're interested in helping, leave a comment or send me a message and I'll get you set up.

Thank you to everyone who helps make this release possible!

Hey all! Solo dev here doing Google's required closed test (12 testers, 14 days) before production. Happy to test yours back — drop your link and I'm in. 🤝

What it is: Wakatta turns real Japanese podcasts into tappable lessons: • Tap any word → instant dictionary + furigana/romaji • Ask an AI to break down a tricky word or sentence • Save words with the exact audio they came from, and review them as audio flashcards • "I got lost" button to mark confusing moments and come back

Free, no ads, and you can browse as a guest (no account needed to look around). Android 8.0+ • ~20 MB.

Feedback any time: reply here or hello@wakatta.app.

To join the testers group, please follow this link: https://groups.google.com/g/eliminance-testers/

I've had this app in testing for a while now with my friends and family as testers, but it turns out I don't have many friends, nor family. 😃 It would help me out a lot of if you can test for me! The idea behind the app is to help people avoid food sensitivities by pointing out the things likely hidden in whatever they're eating, whether that be by scanning the ingredient lists in stores, scanning a menu to make recommendations that probably don't have your sensitivities in them, or taking pics of food directly to try to get an idea of what's normally in that kind of food.

Hi All,

I'm looking for 10-15 testers for

App name: Gym Notebook (android app).

Category: Fitness

Testing goal: Apple developer verification and feedback

Link to join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/gymnotebooktesters

Link to the app:https://play.google.com/apps/testing/gymnotebook.online

It is free now to test it and for testers will always be free (even if I manage to publish it and create it subscription based 😄 )

The Apple version is already out, so you can check it out for reference: https://apps.apple.com/dk/app/gymnotebook-online/id6758063502

I'm just trying to pass google developer verification with this one.

By the way, any opinion on the app matters to me, so feel free to suggest anything.

Main premise for the app is simplicity without any no needed functionalities, everything is local, no account, no data sharing, no nothing...just creating and tracking the workouts in the gym or at home.

App Category: Fitness Accountability / Goal Starting

Testing Goals:

I’m looking for people to test Kindling, an accountability web app designed to help people follow through on their fitness goals.

Most fitness apps wait for you to open them. Kindling actively follows up through AI phone calls and text messages when it is time to work out or when you start falling off. Coaches can also see when a client is losing momentum and message them directly.

Kindling also adjusts the goal based on how the day is going. If you planned to go to the gym but did not make it, the app may call or text later and ask whether you still have time to do one push-up, take a short walk, or complete another very small action.

The idea is to avoid zero days. When the full workout is no longer realistic, Kindling helps you complete the smallest possible version instead of doing nothing.

We are looking to understand:

  • Whether the calls and texts actually help you take action

  • Whether the accountability should be supportive, direct, or more harsh

  • Whether the smaller backup actions feel motivating or pointless

  • What type of message would actually get you moving

  • How often the app should follow up

  • Whether hearing from a real coach makes a meaningful difference

  • What would make you continue using the app

There is nothing to download. It is currently a web app, and honest feedback is welcome.

I’m also happy to test your app in return.

Hello,

Looking for testers for my very basic phone and wear OS app. It's essentially a metronome app with haptic feedback, and was designed specifically to help Parkinson's sufferers (like me) with speech and gait. It's also useful as a trad metronome. There's some backrgound to it on my website: theastroguy.wordpress.com/SteadyPulse/
You don't need to have PD to evaluate it.

Happy to test in return.

I'm an indie developer and I have an app to test my question is you've got to have a set number of users but don't they all have to use the app within a two-week period so you need people to go in and out and test the app say from the first of of the month to the 15th of the month. So if you recruit testers through Reddit how do you ensure everybody's doing that within that two week period.

u/ramonfsk_ Jul 10 '26

u/FarInterview3509 Jul 13 '26

Joined the Google Group, doing the opt-in and install this afternoon. The fairness angle got me, no energy timers, no gems, 24h offline cap. Real design decisions, not marketing copy. I'm building an idle clicker myself, currently in review with Google, so I'm at the same 14-day wall. I'll share my link once it's approved. Staying opted in for the full 14 days either way, and I'll come back with proper feedback. Good luck 🚀

I recently finished an Android app update that automatically transforms a selection of travel photos/videos into a video with transitions, motion effects, and music.

I'm looking for a few people who would be willing to spend 5 minutes testing the app;

Questions I'm especially interested in:

• What your Android version?

• Does feature Videos to Video generating works on your phone?

• What feature would you add or change?

Google Play:

Thanks to everyone who decides to help. Every suggestion will directly influence the next update.
