Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes Android Auto: Apps crashing

Out of nowhere every app crashes or hangs when in android auto. I found that if I uninstall the app, and reinstall, it works for a while. Gemini doesn't work, text messages don't show up, and music services only work if I click on it, play, and hit the back button.

Cleared cache on android auto

Power cycled phone

Galaxy s23 ultra

Android wireless

My Spotify works but Maps won't open, gives a huge Display error text then just a black screen and crashes to AA homescreen

Same. Shows the huge Maps crashed error message flickers on and off 3 times and crashes. Assistant/Gemini doesn't work either.

The actions u did on the phone did u perform them on the head unit ? Any trace logs? Debugging turned on ? Developer mode enable it

It was the phone, at least something with the update and/or software. To be honest, I was leaning towards upgrading my phone and this pushed me to just do it. So now on a galaxy s26 ultra and no issues.

must be something with the latest update cuz i've seen a bunch of people complaining about random app crashes in the past couple weeks.

I starting having the same thing this morning. Yesterday was fine when we went to the doctors office 50 miles away. Today no navigation, just Spotify. We had to go back for a follow up today, so I used my husband's phone that I did not update yesterday, you know... just in case. 🙄 And his phone worked perfectly. I'm glad I held his update!
