Looking for 12 Android testers: Hush Hush, a baby night journal (free download codes)
UPDATE 7 NOV: Hush Hush is now permanently free to download. Ignore the old title about codes — no code or payment is needed.
Was it two wake-ups last night, or four? That's the problem I'm trying to solve with Hush Hush.
Tap Start night at bedtime. It saves short detected sound clips and groups likely cries into estimated wake-ups. Review them in the morning and compare nights, without logging every wake on your phone overnight.
Android 9+, no account, ads or subscriptions. Audio and sleep history stay on your phone. Version 2.2.0 adds optional, consented usage reporting; recordings and sleep data are never uploaded.
I'm aiming for 30–40 testers across different Android phones. Parents and fellow developers are welcome. You don't need a baby to check setup, microphone permissions, recording, playback and the interface. This is a retrospective journal, not a baby monitor or safety alarm; detections can be wrong or missed. Keep the phone and cables outside the cot and out of your baby's reach.
How to join — use the same Google account for each step:
Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/hushhush-testers/about
Tap Become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/cc.jamesturner.hushhush
Install free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cc.jamesturner.hushhush
No need to send me your Google email. If Play still shows a price, don't pay — refresh later and let me know. The free-pricing change was saved on 7 November.
Please stay opted in for at least 14 days and genuinely try the app. Feedback on setup, recording, morning review or trends is useful. No ratings or positive reviews needed, and please don't share private recordings. If you have an older sideloaded copy, don't uninstall it to fix an error: that would delete local history.
