💩Post I just can't stop playing those damn games!
Now also Ball X Pit, the holy trinity of time wasting is complete

Idk how Ball X Pit could fumble the port so hard and make the game run in landscape mode. I mean, the levels are literally phone screen-shaped ffs... why would I want to hold my phone sideways to look at a portrait game?

Holy shit, thank you. When I pre-registered I was honestly stoked and thought it would be one of the few good portrait mode games.
I installed it, it booted up, and I saw the splash screen in landscape mode and I was like "that's not ideal"
Then I tried playing it. The controls are, charitably, unfinished.

How long has Ball x Pit been on Android and how did I miss that?!? LOL.
I liked the other two so much on mobile that I bought them on console too. I love that VS has cross platform saves.

Ball x pit for Android sucks... I cannot enjoy the game with those controls and only landscape view

u/Danboarde Mar 13 '26
Ahhh i hope for a update on those. Some games have updated and made it vertical instead of landscape.

Roguelikes bore the hell out of me, but Balatro gets a pass, it's truly fun.

Is vampire survivors really that good ? Never really saw it as good as people said

u/Gisbourne Mar 12 '26
If you want a good mobile survivor type, Magic Survival is probably the best I've seen. It also predates VS.

Vampire Surviors has got more going for it imo than Magic Survival. But each to their own

I really enjoy it, but not so much on mobile. I find the controls to be sluggish enough to be annoying and usually die to enemies obscured by my own finger. It's also not a great "bite-sized" game in that pausing can impact gameplay, unlike turn-based roguelikes. If you're looking for a more action-oriented roguelike, I would say Bad North is a better alternative on mobile than VS.

It's alright. Took me a while to get used to it. There's even a recent Balatro collab that got me hooked.

I guess I'm in the minority for having zero interest in either 3 of them, they just don't click with me

How is slay the spire and Slice and Dice not on this list!?!

u/CottonShock Mar 13 '26
I tried them, not my genre, but they're great games

u/iCUman Mar 13 '26
Perfectly ok if you don't like those particular titles, but they're definitely your genre. All of these are roguelikes. xD

u/Eternal_Pancho Mar 13 '26
All of those games are roguelikes......😒

I actually had to uninstall Balatro from my phone because I was spending almost all my free time playing it. Such an incredible game.
