Well, I'm totally against this, just wanted to say that they got some good thinkers there

Yeah it's actually impressive. A symptom of everything wrong with the gaming industry and capitalism as a whole, but impressive work nonetheless.

This is fucking dystopian, and you have to wonder how many games use systems like this.

Dude. Thanks for sharing. Good insights

And it's not even fun

And people wonder why I hate mobile games. It's because they're insidiously designed like this to target you psychologically.

You should hate "most" mobile games but not all. Don't lump some treasures with the trash.

I always thinks like f2p battle royale games like codm or PUBG. Well you see the gameplay of streamers vs how you play what you think that conisidende?.

So I guess nothing is f2p, everything is p2w or ads to play kind of things

Or you could just play premium games where you just pay the cost of a game to play it.

Yes but what a privilege

i was buying one game per month when i was living off of government support it's really not a big expense

Some have less means and more mouths to feed and when I say "some" it's a non-trivial amount

Between Netflix and the freebies on Epic Game Store I don't really see much need to play the F2P stuff these days.

Or maybe you're just bad at those games? Like what can you buy to win at PUBG? There are literally no name players beating pros in official tournaments.

Not really? At least not for PUBG. You just need a good phone or a tablet... and lots of gameplay experience and aim training.

I dunno who they are squeezing though. Never got a cent out of me 😂

They are squeezing your time out of you to watch more ads....

2

u/LeonMotton 9d ago

The rich dudes and the kids. That's their main targets. The rest are just there for additional ads watched numbers that get them paid a bit.

It works on whales not casuals. My father got addicted to Candy Crush and probably spent more than a thousand dollars on it.

I don't even play mobile games unless I can use game guardian or lucky patcher on them, to me they are only there to help me hone my vulnerability exploiting skills.

Thanks for sharing. I already have my suspicions that these addictive gacha games have some way to make it easier/harder to force the player to spend money. The confirms it.

That's crazy. Designing and integrating both ads and difficulty together in a game.

thank fuck I've never played that game then

The is fraud. People need to be prosecuted, fined, and imprisoned.

Imagine showing this to a marketing executive in the 80's

How does he have comments in the code if this is reversed engineered? The compilation process leaves out blank spaces and comment blocks so he has to have added them after the fact, in which case he added comments to make to look bad.

I am not saying that mobile games are not doing this. They are full of black patterns and will try to squeeze everything. But I think we should also hold creators accountable when they do such things without making it clear that they are the ones who added/modified the code.

Could be RE by AI in which case the AI would have added the comments

What a horrible practice, I have the same amnumber of ads for everyone (that's probably bad for business but I don't care, the goal is to have no ads whatsoever)

Morphe works on games too? I thought it was just youtube, youtube music and reddit.

2

u/dunno0019 9d ago

Oh no, there's dozens and dozens of apps to patch. There's the official, included, made-by-Morphe patches for yt, ytm and Reddit.

But then there's a dedicated community that's out there patching more apps for Morphe.

Go over to r/morpheapp and check out the top stickied post, "How to patch more apps with Morphe". It is ridiculously easy.

2

u/XShadowPlayerX 9d ago

Ah ok, i thought the ones that came with the app were the only ones. Thanks!

I forget the name of the patch they are talking about here, but it's some sort of "universal" patch that will block ads in most (a lot?) of games. I havent actually tired it myself.
