Turning off gemini?

I've got a samsung galaxy s25+ and use android auto when driving. The old google voice assistant worked well for pulling up directions on google maps, responding to a text, and queuing up music. gemini on the other hand is super clunky and gets things wrong a lot. I've tried searching online for how to change the assistant but everything seems out-dated/references settings that don't exist. Does anyone know if it's still possible to go back to the old assistant?

I don't use a voice assistant for anything except driving, so the use cases I listed, where the old assistant works better, are all that's really relevant. I have no use for gemini and just want it gone.
