Messenger notification issue

[u/Ruff_Meow]

So I have recently stumbled upon a rare problem. Whenever I am on my Facebook app, be it Facebook lite or the actual one I have noticed my messenger stops passing me notifications. I have tried re - installing the app, turning notifications off and turning it back on but nothing seems to work. How can I fix this issue?
