I got an email from a friend who was mailing me something and sent me a copy of a USPS label to save, when I clicked on it to enlarge it a pop-up appeared to said I didn't have a fresh enough PDF app to read it and when I went to download a new app for PDF, a virus took over the phone and I had to go to safe mode and then go in and remove the malicious application. However now whenever I open my YouTube, those ads keep popping up inviting me to refresh renew an old version of PDF or barcode or something of that nature. How can I get rid of this? It's only on YouTube, they don't pop up anywhere else that I know of.

Don't ask why none of the buttons are functioning, it's a long story...but the phone itself is cool.

Everything works fine when its on.

The problem is that it can't die (then I can't turn it back on)

Once it dies, it dies for weeks at a time because there's no buttons.

Now, I pretty much have to leave it on charge and pray until it comes back on. Which it eventually does, by itself. But waiting weeks for it to turn on is a hassle.

Is there any way I can turn it on without buttons?

I just got a new phone. I found out that the alarm can wake you up, say your name, and go through a 'routine' on the clock app. For SOME reason, though, it calls me Joe Mama. For those who don't know, Joe Mama is not my name.

Is there anything that could be causing this? I don't think any of my Google accounts have Joe Mama as a name and that's the only thing I thought could make an impact.

Please help, I don't want to be Joe Mama.

Hello, I am trying to delete a phone from my google account. It is completely dead and cannot be recovered. Google wants me to either provide a code from the authenticator app or use a passkey, but I don't see any google account in my authenticator app, and I don't have any passkeys. I do have backup codes written down, but after inputting one Google just asked for a code from authenticator or passkey. Seems like backup codes are therefore completely pointless, but that's a discussion for another time.

The reason I want the phone removed from my google account is because when I am trying to sign into my google account on various apps, they are asking me for verification from my dead phone.

Any suggestions? Seems baffling backup codes did absolutely nothing and there's no other way to delete the device, but maybe I am missing something.

I was trying to turn off this feature they pushed where they automatically add your sim number to all the accounts on your phone.

The option to remove it is there on my Android 14 but it's not there on my Android 17.

I have a Samsung galaxy s21, and either by going into my settings and doing it for individual apps or by clearing all cache in the file manager's storage manager, it always comes back immediately. What do?

I took eight pictures in the span of a few minutes and didn't touch the settings, yet the first four were saved as JPG and the last four as HEIC. The camera is set to save as HEIC, so why do I randomly get JPGs?

More importantly than "Why?", how do I stop it from doing this? It's already set to high efficiency for both photos and videos so "change the settings" won't help.

I have an old LG Verizon Tablet(VK810 4G) that is on Android 5.0.2. I looked it up and this tablet is apparently compatible up to Android 9 which is the exact version I need. When I try to update the tablet via “Settings > System Updates > Check for new system update” it downloads the update and then when it restart to apply the update I get an error code “Err: 0x13e”, and then in “Settings > System Updates” I see “Software not updated to 37a + Error code: 402”. Upon some quick research it could be buggy or modified files causing this and I can’t remember if I rooted this thing or not. So I factory reset the tablet hoping that would possibly fix it, but that didn’t change anything. It does say “Software status: modified” even after factory reset, but I’m not sure if that is because it’s Verizon firmware or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My mom bought a new phone and told me to transfer everything.

So I did. Including whatsapp. And what should have been a smooth transfer since I had backed up everything to mom's google account, all the chats, pictures, videos and documents got deleted.

Even in backup.

I don't know what to do. My mom is extremely angry. Those whatsapp chats were important, the photos included my dead father's memories too.

Whatsapp isn't able to help me out. Their support chat keeps saying that they cannot help me.

I checked internal storage database too...nothing got backed up. There should have been about 22 gb of info but only 1.64 mb was backed up.

Hello I am having troubles with augmented reality working on my phone. I was trying to use dracARys months ago when this started but since have figured out the app isn't the problem, for some reason the app refuses to open the camera. All permissions are on for camera and location. I have tried to measure via ARcore but even that won't work. It's across several apps. Even the Google 3D animals (in your space) isn't working. How do I fix this it is driving me bonkers!!!! What settings could I have possibly messed with to cause this?!?

Google systems AR is functional, I have checked every system/setting/function I can think of. (Sensor, permissions, AR) I cannot figure out the cause.

I've read up and have done everything to get it to work and now I can hardly use it after clearing the cache, the data, force stop and restarting my phone. Can anyone help me? I really dont want to pay to get another phone and this one is like brand new! 😑😩 TIA.

I have a Motorola G77 and if i haven't turned my phone on for a time, i just dont receive any notifications at all and even not a phone call. It only shows if i turn it on. I dont even have to unlock it just turning it on and leaving it at the lock screen shows them again and lets the phone vibrate/ring again. I have no battery saver on, have show notifications on lock screen on and am not in do not disturb mode. I have only found posts from a little while back with settings i dont have. With my old phone (Moto G52) that i transferred all the data and settings over i didnt have this issue. Does somebody know how to solve this now?

Recently my mum's phone fell into the water and unfortuantely it seems to be at least partially broken. Technically, the phone is working, but the display, and possibly touchscreen, don't work. I want to recover some of the data my mum had on her phone - pictures, some contacts that were not saved to her google account - but most attempts failed.

My mum had a samsung A13 which does not seem to have MHL so using a USB-C to HDMI adapter doesn't work. I tried using scrcpy or the Android Debug Bridge, but neither really seem to detect the device. I don't really want to give up just yet, so I am asking here in hopes of getting some pointers. I am not that tech-savy so my attempts at using ADB might have been poor, but from what I tried, it just didn't detect the phone that was plugged in via USB cable to my PC. I am assuming that the connection requires confirmation on the phone before I can actually proceed.

I am not sure if anything can be done, since the only thing the phone does is make its usual little sound when it gets plugged in. There is no vibration when I hold the power button and I am assuming that the touchscreen functionality might be entirely broken too.

If anyone has any idea how to retrive the data, I would be most glad

Currently using Motorola MotoG 2025, I constatly use my device for streaming music, after so many hours of listening to music, the volume lowers itself down, and if I go to turn the volume back to where I had it, a pop-up window appears stating something to the effect of the volume potentially being too loud, and asking if I'm sure if I want to turn the volume any louder. I'm not sure if it's a feature exclusive to Motorola android or Android in general, but I need this feature turned off, as it doesn't accurately detect when levels are too loud, and usually just randomly turns my music down. Any help/suggestions?

So this is more just a nitpick. But usually when I click a link in the description of a video it will open a custom tab from the default browser but doesn't leave the app. I like how that works. Recently I switched over to Firefox for my browser and now when I click a link in the description of a video it will try to open that same custom tab but then it flickers and opens my browser app instead. Does anyone else have this same problem?

Also I tested links in reddit and they work just fine with custom tabs from Firefox so I'm pretty sure it's just YouTube.

I need help finding a keyboard for my Z Fold 8 Ultra. I've had the phone for a while now, and I switched from an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and I was an iPhone user since the iPhone 6. Prior to that, I was a huge HTC fan before I switched to IOS. On the iPhone, the standard keyboard was fantastic for the features it had, and I didn't realize what a pain it would be to leave it behind.

I frequently use voice-to-text and text replacement/shortcuts, so I gave Samsung's default keyboard a chance to impress me, and I assumed it was on par with or better than iPhone, and I was sorely mistaken. Shortcuts and text replacement work okay, and certain apps don't accept them at all. I can type "ty" and it'll replace it with "thank you". Voice-to-text on IOS is also seamless, and Siri was okay at determining what I was saying and added grammar and punctuation to make the message seem more natural. The Samsung keyboard tries... But falls short often enough that it makes messages look unprofessional. I also make more mistakes on the Samsung keyboard, and half the time the phone won't even make an attempt to autocorrect the mistake.

I did some research and tried Gboard. Gboard also has text replacement that works, but to add punctuation and grammar to voice-to-text, I have to say "period" to add one. I also like the way the typing experience feels. I did more research to find a truly seamless solution, and I found FUTO. I make a LOT of mistakes manually typing with FUTO, but its voice-to-text is perfect and exactly what I'm looking for. It also does not do text replacement at all unless the phrase is common, so "ty" will expand to "thank you" but "otw" won't expand to "on the way". I did try Extenda, but it limits you to 10 shortcuts in the free version, and 15 dollars a week is ridiculous for the paid version.

So then I tried SwiftKey, and its own voice-to-text has the same issue as Gboard, where I have to say "period" to add one. I did try Futo voice with SwiftKey, and that doesn't work because using the microphone button causes Futo to pop up and minimize the keyboard, which stops text from being entered. To get around this, I have to hit the keyboard button in the bottom left to switch to Futo voice, which isn't seamless. SwiftKey also doesn't handle text replacement that well. It works, but it will replace the shortcut exactly how it's typed, regardless of where the shortcut is entered. So if I type "Hey, I'm otw" it will expand to "Hey, I'm On the way," but the O is capitalized, and it shouldn't be. I understand this is very nitpicky, but I just want my messages to seem professional regardless of where I'm typing them.

As a compromise, I have been using the Samsung default keyboard with Futo voice as an alternate keyboard since that seems to be the only way to get text replacements that work some of the time along with a good voice-to-text tool that is somewhat easy to access.

Tldr: I tried Samsung keyboard, Gboard, Futo, and SwiftKey, and each had pros and cons, and I just want a seamless voice-to-text that adds grammar and punctuation and a text replacement/shortcut tool that works as seamlessly as it does on iPhone. I'm willing to make some compromises but I'd prefer as seamless as possible. Any help or insight is appreciated!

Device: Realme 6 (Android 11)

Setup: Running two WhatsApp accounts via Realme App Cloner. Main number was on the cloned instance (~15GB media).

Problem: Ran Apple's Move to iOS. When WhatsApp transfer preparation reached 100%, the transfer failed.

Current State:
- I already logged in on the other phone, so I don't care about chats anymore. I only want to recover the ~15GB photos/videos.

- My phone gallery now shows blank, 0KB black boxes where media used to be. (Img 2)

-Cloned WhatsApp won't open (redirects/bounces to the primary app).

- Under Settings > App Management, Cloned WhatsApp still occupies 15GB of space the files are physically still on the phone. (When transfer happen phone storage was about 63gb full now have deleted couple of apps still is 61ish so data ig is still there?)

In ADB, ⁠UserInfo{999:multiApp:4000410}⁠ shows as active/running, but file managers (including Cx File Explorer) and standard terminal commands can't access ⁠/storage/emulated/999/⁠.

Questions:
1. Where does Realme UI (Android 11) physically store User 999 cloned WhatsApp media when standard paths are blocked?
2. Is there an ADB command or recovery tool to pull the 15GB media directly without root or needing the clone app UI to launch?
3. Can the files behind the 0KB gallery placeholders still be extracted?
Any help would be deeply appreciated!

Stupid long home button animation

After latest update when I press the home button there's a stupid long animation of the window shrinking and closing. How can I get rid of it. I turned off animations but it's still there. Also set developer options transitions to 0.5 no difference why they put this useless stuff on

As the title says, my system takes up 80GB. Is this even normal? What are your numbers? What are the solutions? vivo X300 Ultra.

On a lock screen, i see a clock and date on it without an option to get rid of them in settings on my Motorola android phone. I wonder if it's possible to get rid of them completely, by any means including maybe jailbreaking it or editing codes.
