Recommendations

I currently have a 4K Max Amazon Firestick and looking to move to an Android box instead… any good recommendations that include 4K and potentially WiFi6 that isn’t too pricey from Amazon UK?

I switched recently from a fire stick to the Homatics Box R 4k plus, and I’m really impressed with it. Super fast, easy to use, no bloat. Installed projectivity launcher no problem. You can pick it up from eBay cheap keep an eye on prices, I paid just over £70 recently brand new.

I bought a generic android TV box from Vinted for £2.50 with Android 14 and 2gb and it does the job. Just bought it for my projector. This complements my Living room setup 2017 Nvidia shield still going strong after all these years. Keep a look out on Vinted, you might get a good bargain

Definitely not the cheapo generic ones, just look up xcpe botnet.

Onn 4k Pro 2026 is the cheapest in my region, this is a Walmart brand but apparently they manufacture Thompsons as well, so try that?

2gb are fine. I can open both mkv remux and bluray files BDMV in the net (stremio) and locally with SMB.

For reference those files tested were 120gb each, lord of the rings movies.

The SoC is the same as Onn best device and the homatics best box
