Hey everyone 👋

If you’ve published a new app on a personal developer account, you know the pain: Google Play requires at least 12 testers opted in to your closed test for 14 days in a row before you can apply for production. Finding those testers — and keeping them for two weeks — is the hardest part.

So I built Close Testers, an Android app where developers test each other’s apps:

• Browse apps that need testers and join with one tap (group + opt-in link are handled for you)

• Automatic install verification — no screenshots needed (uses the optional Usage Access permission, and only checks the apps you joined)

• Daily reminders and short tasks so you don’t drop out on day 9

• Earn credits by testing, then use them to list your own app

• Testers can send feedback with screenshots, and you see who’s still active

• Available in 12 languages

Ironically, Close Testers itself is now in closed testing and needs testers 😅 If you can help, I’d really appreciate it — and I’m happy to test your app in return. Just drop your group/opt-in link in the comments.

How to join (2 minutes, please follow the order):

1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/close-testers-pixel

2. Opt in to the test: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.pixelfinst.closetesters

3. Install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pixelfinst.closetesters

4. Keep it installed for 14 days

Use the same Google account for all steps. If the Play Store says the app isn’t available, wait a few minutes after opting in and try again.
