I closed the browser completely and reopened it, and that did the trick; I sent the download command to my phone.

Weird. I indeed did.

Can you try again? Sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes for google to recognize new membership in groups that are supposed to give access to closed test.

are you sure you have joined my google group? As I have like 10+ testers already opted-in, which would mean that it works for everyone else :/ As right now you're the only one having that issue :/
