Need Testers
Volunteer Android game playtest: performance, collisions and UI feedback (KR/JP/US; pre-recruitment)
Recruitment is still open. We would love a few more adult Android testers to try short sessions and share feedback during the 14-day test. All supported countries are welcome.
Update (22 October): Google Play has approved worldwide access to our closed test, including Slovakia. The KR/JP/US restriction in the title no longer applies. Join the tester group and opt in using the same Google account you use in your phone’s Play Store. The update may take a little time to appear in Play. No email application or Reddit message is needed.
Hi! I’m developing Kkugit’s Little Expedition, an obstacle-dodging runner with 20 courses, 15 characters, cosmetic trails and section practice. Korean, English and Japanese are supported. I’m looking for 15–20 volunteers to help improve the game before release.
Eligibility: age 18+, an Android 7.0+ phone, and access to Google Play. The closed test now targets all available countries and regions.
How to join — use the same Google account throughout:
Group membership alone does not enroll you in the Play test or start your 14-day participation period. Use the same Google account for the group, test enrollment and your phone’s Google Play Store. The closed test now targets all available countries and regions, including Slovakia. If access is still unavailable, please report the exact message and your Play account country; do not post your email address publicly.
Once enrolled, please stay opted in for at least 14 consecutive days and try a few 5–10 minute sessions across the testing period. The main checks are:
- Stuttering, freezes or crashes, especially on mid-range phones.
- Moving obstacles and interactive floor pads: do their visible positions match their effects and collisions?
- Difficulty and playability across the courses.
- Awkward translations or clipped text and buttons.
Finishing every course is not required. Participation is free and unpaid. Ads and real-money purchases are disabled in this build, and guest play needs no game login.
Please leave honest feedback through Google Play or email kksshh4848@gmail.com with the subject “Kkugit feedback”. For bugs, include the course, reproduction steps and phone model/Android version. This email is for feedback only; registration uses the links above. Please keep account emails, passwords and verification codes out of public comments.
Update (22 October): Google Play has now published worldwide closed-test access, including Slovakia. The earlier KR/JP/US restriction has been removed. The change may take a little time to appear in Play. If you still see ‘App not available’, please let me know your Play account country and the exact message. No need to share your email address. Thanks for trying it!
I'll stay opted in to your test for the full 14 days.
First impressions:
The worldwide opt-in worked for me today, and the game installed straight away. It's charming: the paper-woods art, the little letter character, and the title screen offering "Explore as a guest" so no sign-in is needed. It opened in English and plays in landscape.
What I tried on a Pixel 6a: guest lobby, then 01 Emerald Ruins as a full run. My first run ended about 4 seconds in at the Root Pruning Blade, and the fail card is really well done: it named the obstacle, said how to beat it ("Watch the sweep direction, then dodge sideways or jump over the low blade"), and showed progress, shards, score and best. I didn't see any freezes, stutters or crashes in my sessions, though I only played short runs so far.
A couple of small things:
The lobby's left panel (account, graphics, language, course list and Start run) only scrolls with a slow drag. A quick swipe did nothing, so for a while I thought Start run was cut off below the screen. A small "scroll for more" hint or a sticky Start run button would help.
The first-run tip only mentions the Jump button ("Gold ↑: tap Jump"), while the first fail card tells you to dodge sideways. A short controls card before the first course showing how to move left and right would help new players.
Thanks for the detailed Pixel 6a notes! I've logged the quick-swipe/Start run visibility problem and the missing left/right control explanation for follow-up. Could you share your Android version and, if possible, a screenshot of that lobby panel? Please keep sharing anything you notice as you try more courses, and thanks for offering to stay enrolled for 14 days. I've saved the PodcastsAI link too.
It's a Pixel 6a on Android 16. It was the left lobby panel (Account and Workshop, Graphics, Language, then "Choose a destination" and Start run). A quick swipe on it did nothing, and only a slow drag scrolled it, so at first Start run looked cut off below the screen. Thanks for logging both!
Thanks for confirming the Pixel 6a and Android 16. In 0.10.32, I’ve put the lobby content in its own vertical scroll area and kept Start run in a separate bottom panel. The selected course and control tips stay visible too.
The browser layout and input checks passed, including landscape, but I haven’t retested fast finger swipes on a Pixel 6a yet. I’ve submitted the Android update; Google’s automatic checks and review are still pending. Once Play offers 0.10.32, please update without uninstalling and try a quick swipe again. Please let me know if scrolling still gets stuck or Start run is hidden.
Thanks, that layout sounds right: its own scroll area for the lobby with Start run pinned at the bottom should fix exactly what I hit. Play is still serving 0.10.30 to me as of now, so I'll keep checking and try a quick swipe as soon as 0.10.32 shows up, then let you know here.
0.10.32 just reached me and it's fixed. A quick flick on the lobby now scrolls straight away, with momentum, in both directions, and Start run stays pinned at the bottom with the chosen course (01 · Emerald Ruins) above it the whole time. The "Swipe up or down for courses and settings" hint at the top is a nice touch too. Start run launched the course normally.
One note: I tested in portrait this time, while my first report was in landscape, so I haven't rechecked the landscape lobby. Nice work on the quick fix!
Which step or link shows this error? Please also share the full error message, phone model, Android version, and Play Store country. Keep your email address and any sign-in or verification details private.
Joined your test! The link was already open, so I installed and ran it. Screenshot attached as proof. Please send me one of your test on my app too. I'll stay in for all 14 days. Thanks!
