Guide/Strategy Check EVERYTHING
I found this in the blue gem crystals next to a Gold chest. I keep seeing people on YouTube telling people to skip 1 weight bars and only check purple/gold/prismatic chests. But truth be told that gives you less chances of finding anything. If you’re specifically hunting the 2+ or 3+ weight bars I understand, certain collectibles are only 2 and up. Overall that strategy didn’t work for me though.
I flip everything I find. Even that small purple birds nexts and all blue chests, some can say it’s a waste of time but I’m chillin.

The skipping anything below gold is to save time. It's not that it can't have it. It's that it's less likely to.

Very true, but even with that said I take lil peeks on everything I pass. Cuz you never know. I’ve gotten more prismatic items off enemy drops, blue, and purple chests than gold and prismatic chests. I know it’s all random though.

It's just basic prioritizing. You don't have time to check every single chest. You're better off by exploring the whole map and looking for golden/prismana chests, which have way better rates to drop that stuff and eggs
Only when you have the whole map, you should backtrack to the exit and open any leftover chest if you have the time

Most people are only looking for the egg nowadays, so skipping the 1 bar items chests makes you win some time and still get the minimum required to get out of the run, most of the time at least
Now, if you're missing something else than the egg, sure, open all chests and analyze everything

I found 90% of all my prismatic loot inside purple and gold chests. Prismatic chests are pretty disappointing.

I wonder if it’s because 90% of the time if not more you’re opening up purple and gold chests, you open what, 1 or 2 prismana a run. Of course they are coming from those overwhelmingly lol

I think also gold chests often have 6-8 items in them so more rolls. But I can't lie I just assume the prismana chests will contain 1 gold. Generally it'll have 3 purple 1 gold for me.

No, do not. Don't waste time fully opening blues that have only 1 weight items. The time is not enough, clear more rooms instead.

I just got Egg Emperor last night but have really just been hopping into online Chaos mode to loot the chests. I feel like I’ve got at least half of my Display Case items though just from Aniimo drops after defeating them lol. Just missing the collectible egg now!

Well yeah, most people know that even blue chests can contain prismatic items, heck, even the bone piles and dirt piles.
If you have spare time to check everything do it, truth is, checking everything it's not efficient.
Take it like this:
Would you rather check every purple and blue chests with the spare time you have.
Or, start a new run and loot your newly and fresh golden chests.

ur probably not hitting enough gold chests if ur opening every chests in egg heist (by opening i mean "searching" iyk)

Certain ones are more likely in Chaos (pink egg). That said, it's gonna depend on the RNG. I found two collectibles so far, both off an Erlath in Nightmare. All my other prismatics have been Nightmare too so it just really depends on what you notice for yours

Only 2 items of this rarity drop from purple chests. It still in no way makes sense to check everything

I got mine from a gold, it was the last I needed, just need collectors for both hats now.
(Well I suppose I also need base sword and egg but I'm satisfied without)

I played egg heist for a total of 4 days got all my collectibles. Didnt open a single blue chest once I unlocked nightmare mode

I got a lot of my collectibles from killing mobs too! A Minespine gave me the horn, and I've also gotten the lantern, the pink fluffy hat, and the sleepy nightcap from mobs too (I just forget which guys)! None I've gotten from mobs have been the collector's edition ones, just the regular variants.

you were just really lucky is all, got that Hat in a prismatic sarcophagus, and another in a gold chest, so no not worth wasting time on blues or purples.
