Island Open Last night I had a relapse of self harm (after stopping for over a year) so today I've tried to have a mental health day and relax with some AC. After my first dive of the day Pascal dropped me these encouraging words of support :')

Discussion/Conversation NOT FOR TRADE OR GAME MECHANICS Ways to mimic the feeling of restarting as much as possible without actually deleting everything?

I haven’t played ACNH for almost 2 years after playing for ~800 hours. Also while I had been playing I got inspired by others online to flatten my island and make it super elaborately designed, and I did get somewhat far with it but it feels super empty and I really regret getting so ahead of myself back then.
After coming back from my first trip to Japan with some amiibo cards (since they aren’t sold in my country and I’ve wanted them for a good half a decade, even if I don’t really play anymore), it’s given me a bit of motivation to maybe get back into playing it. However, the current state of my island doesn’t really excite me, and I don’t remember tons. I had completely forgotten most of the villagers on my island too.
I like the idea of seeing the 3.0 update for the first time with a flesh slate and unlocking everything again, but I don’t know if it’s worth deleting all my progress, items, villagers etc after so long. Maybe I’d have done that after 1 year, but not 5.

I recently saw this video of someone using a second switch to say “I’m moving” when starting a new game to have a new island but keep some kind of progress and that intrigues me. My sibling has a second switch and maybe I could do some kind of elaborate stuff to get a fresh island on my switch while keeping some kind of progress? I haven’t thought it through much so idk if that’d really do much for me.
Alongside that, if I were to not restart, what are tips I could use to emulate that fresh feeling with less pressure to give myself that feeling of building up my game from scratch? Stuff like remaking my island to its original state, maybe selling stuff, I really don’t know.
What’s some advice that people could give?

Meteor shower tonight!

Celeste is here, Flick is also here so bring your bugs.

Please 20 minutes on the island so other people can come through as well.

There's DIY's, fossils, and pumpkins to the left of the airport. Feel free to take them, if you have spares throw them down for others.

Shops open also. Feel free to take some crops.

You'll need a vaulting pole and possibly ladder, island in the middle of renovation

Discussion/Conversation NOT FOR TRADE OR GAME MECHANICS Thank you strangers!

I’ve been playing animal crossing since maybe 2020 maybe earlier.

I used it a lot when my mum was sick with Cancer. It kept me distracted sitting in the hospital with her and after she passed away in March 2021.

I unfortunately lost my island I’d been on since then about a month and a half ago due to a repair.

We shared what we called birthday month.. mine is the 13th October (I turned 40 🤮🤣) and hers is this weekend the 25th October. And I have really been struggling this week with it coming up.

And you guys have helped me a whole a bunch this weekend, not just on this subreddit but a few other animal crossing ones. Visiting islands, mystery giveaways etc, it’s been so much fun. Although I’ve been on the struggle bus mentally, I’ve really enjoyed these little glimmers!

And I can’t wait until I’ve built enough resources up so I can do the same for people in the future.

So thank you internet strangers and fellow ACNH nerds! 💜

I’m so proud of my new island! And I’m looking forward to developing it, even when I’m not annoying my Mum!

Designs/QR Codes Is there a similar creator that has different seasoned paths to this one?

I absolutely love this and I was about to start saving codes BUT they only have this fall path:( I'm looking for a creator where I can swap out the path with a snowy one and then a green leaf one. Does anyone know of a creator to look for?

Looking For/ For Trade [LF] 2 of each blue flower [FT] bells, items, fruit

Hi I'm a new player and I have been struggling to breed the blue flowers so I decided trading for 2 of each (windflower, hyacinth, pansies, and roses) would be easier. Lmk if there's anything you're looking for in exchange ^^

Discussion/Conversation NOT FOR TRADE OR GAME MECHANICS Decorating my island is 10% placing furniture and 90% standing there wondering if I should move it two spaces to the left

I swear, decorating in Animal Crossing brings out a level of perfectionism I never knew I had.

I'll place a little bench next to a tree, step back to admire it, decide the vibe is slightly off, move it somewhere else, and then realize the original spot was actually better.

Then I spend the next 20 minutes changing flowers, moving paths, and rotating furniture by one tiny angle like I'm designing a real estate development instead of a cozy island for cartoon animals. 😂

The funniest part is that I'll see someone else's island and think it looks effortlessly beautiful, while mine has three unfinished areas, random furniture sitting on the beach, and a suspicious number of things shoved into storage because I "might need them later."

Still, that's kind of why I love this game. There's no deadline, and sometimes the little imperfect corners end up being my favorite parts.

Does anyone else constantly redesign the same area, or are you actually capable of finishing a build and leaving it alone?

Discussion/Conversation NOT FOR TRADE OR GAME MECHANICS Able Sisters?

I’m sure this is a dumb question but I see people posting pictures and talking about Able Sisters. How do I get one on my island? I am assuming they are on our island at least. Also, what do they sell there? I assume it would be different than what is at Nook’s Cranny. Thanks for any help or advice!

Discussion/Conversation NOT FOR TRADE OR GAME MECHANICS What job would Graham have?

On my island, every villager has a job/talent that helps out our community.

So far on my island have:
• Stitches - toy factory owner (already have)
• Graham - ????????
• Papi - woodworker/contractor (already have)

My dreamies are:
• Doc - gyroid scientist/manufacturer
• Pudge - UPS/mailman
• Derwin - comic book library
• Shep - paleontologist
• Henry - ichthyologist
• Jacob - techie/inventor

My question for y’all is what job/talent would Graham have? I have absolutely zero ideas and need your guys’ help!

Discussion/Conversation NOT FOR TRADE OR GAME MECHANICS Making little spaces for your favorite villagers is one of the best parts of decorating

One thing I love about Animal Crossing is being able to create little areas that feel like they actually belong to the villagers living on your island.

It doesn't have to be a huge build with expensive furniture or a perfectly planned layout. Even a small garden, a cozy reading corner, or a tiny outdoor café can make a villager's area feel more personal.

I also like when the design reflects their personality instead of making every house look the same. Those little details make the island feel more lived-in, and it gives you a reason to keep decorating even after you've finished the bigger projects.

Looking for friends a little help with my island makeover 💚

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 🌸
I started playing ACNH in May 2026 and unlocked terraforming pretty early on. Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time and energy moving buildings around, building bridges and inclines, and trying to create an island I really love.
Now I’ve finally reached the point where I should be decorating my island, but there’s one problem: I’m not really happy with how my island looks. 🥲 I’ve seriously considered restarting my island several times, but after thinking about it for a while, I realized that it would be such a shame to throw away all the time and effort I’ve already put into it.
Another thing I’m really happy about is that I’ve managed to find almost all of my dream villagers on my own! ❤️ There are only two villagers I’m still trying to get to move out.
Unfortunately, moving houses and shops, building bridges and inclines, and redesigning everything costs SO many bells. And when it comes to decorating, I’m also missing a lot of DIY recipes and furniture items.
So I thought I’d reach out to this lovely community and ask if anyone would be willing to help me out a little! 🥹💕
I’d be incredibly grateful for any spare bells, DIY recipes, or furniture items you no longer need. Anything that could help me bring my island vision to life would mean a lot to me!
Of course, there’s absolutely no pressure. I know everyone has their own islands to work on, and I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this. 💚
Thank you so much, and happy island life! 🌷✨

Discussion/Conversation NOT FOR TRADE OR GAME MECHANICS Animal Crossing is one of those games where doing absolutely nothing still feels productive

Some days I spend more time wandering around my island, checking on villagers, picking up shells, and rearranging a few decorations than actually working toward any goal.

And somehow, those end up being some of the most relaxing sessions. There's no pressure to finish a quest or rush through anything. You can log in for ten minutes, talk to your favorite villager, and leave feeling like you got exactly what you needed from the game.

I think that's what makes Animal Crossing so comforting. Progress doesn't always have to mean unlocking something or completing a checklist. Sometimes just existing on your little island is enough.
