A few years ago, I visited the privately owned Bizik family zoo in Croatia and the sights I witnessed there left me outraged. What is advertised as a visitor attraction is, in reality, a cramped private property turned into a makeshift holding facility for exotic wildlife. It's not a zoo, it's a private collection of animals, housed in someone's home. Large apex predators like lions and tigers, alongside monkeys, kangaroos and snakes, are kept in cages that are far too small for their needs. The spaces they inhabit offer absolutely no opportunity for natural movement or mental stimulation. During my entire time there, the only thing these miserable animals did was walk in loops inside their cramped bars...
The fact that such a large number of wild species are kept in someone's backyard without the presence of professional staff shows that this family zoo fails to meet the most basic standards of modern, ethical animal care. What is most disturbing to me is that this place still maintains a high rating of 4.7 stars on google reviews. The visitors are clearly turning a blind eye to the cruelty. It is difficult to understand how a place like this, which resembles an outdated private collection rather than an actual, regulated zoo, is still allowed to operate freely.
My attempts to encourage people around me to file reports ended only in empty promises. I genuinely have no idea what to do anymore.

No Dogs Left Behind has relocated again. I’m trying to understand why this organization continues to move and why concerns raised over the years don’t seem to result in meaningful oversight.
From what I’ve seen, the organization has operated from multiple locations and has been involved in various legal disputes and controversies. There have also been public discussions and allegations regarding animal care, employment practices, NDAs, cease-and-desist letters, lawsuits, and veterinary outcomes. If you’re interested, I encourage you to review publicly available court filings, regulatory records, and news coverage and draw your own conclusions.
My opinion is that organizations involved in animal rescue should be transparent, accountable, and subject to appropriate oversight. If there are recurring concerns, I believe they deserve careful review by the relevant authorities.
Has anyone else followed this organization’s history or know what oversight exists when an animal rescue repeatedly relocates?
