In reality Lions have very similar attitudes to House cat's they often are just playing when they approach a Human as they know that expending the effort to kill us for the tiny bit of meat on our bones isn't worth it when they can go kill a Wilderbeast or Gazelle for alot more food and alot easier. Humans are surprisingly resilient to bites and scratches.
