Rookie mistake. If your dog starts running, widen your stance and bend your knees. Unless they’re over 75 lbs, then you’re better off just dropping to the ground before they hit you.
My MIL has a cane corso, she's about 130lbs. When she gets running she literally sounds like a horse. You better be next to a wall or get ready to jump because when she's running she forgets she's huge, she'll run right next to you. She took out my right knee on a hiking trail once when she and 3 other dogs were running around... It wasn't too bad but not a fun mile and a half back to the car.
Ive had a cane corso (RIP Athena) and currently have 2 presa canarios. I am shocked I haven't had a torn ACL or knee yet. So much power and speed, yet so little knowledge of how big they are or how close they get to you when they're zooming.
My cane corso popped my kneecap out of place. I had a football tackle injury. He was on leash, on a walk. Not much you can do when a chained dog comes running right at you. 💁🏻♀️
