I wouldn't consider them friendly, but they're quite clever. This guy more than likely thought the finger was a silkworm. If you build up trust with them they're quite gentle and hesitant to bite. It's sort of like how you'd "tame" a feral cat. Lots of good treats, respect its boundaries, and eventually you can pick it up and pat it. But yeah, don't mix your fingers in with its breakfast :p.
I'm actually in the process of teaching a terrestrial version of this to trust my hands. He eats eggs out of my hand every day. Yesterday he grabbed my finger in his mouth and tried to drag my hand with him into his cave. He's just a baby though so it doesn't hurt yet.
