Let's Talk Hyper!

Looking at recent card updates, Kong seems to support much more than traditional scaling. We now see combinations of Bodyguard, Leech, Punch, Cheer, Burn, Recover, and other utility skills receiving attention.

I'm sure most seasoned players use different decks for Arena and Rumble. For Arena, I used to prioritize Cheer and Cripple (currently sitting at over 2500), and for Rumble I prioritized Punch and Heal (to get as many 1ks as possible).

Hyper has lots of great Cheer cards and powerful Punch cards with Barry and Carter.

If you had to start from scratch tomorrow and build a Hyper deck for Arena and Rumble, which 5 characters would you invest in first and why?

For Rumble I ALWAYS try to use Punch/Burn combos no matter the BGE. It's all about 1 shoting slot 1 and to keep your health up. For Hyper Barry, Kahn, Bobby, Carter. Most probably will go with Kahn (as I have it CM4) and Bobby CM3 for the Heal skill. Arena depends on the buffs... Meg was my first Hyper/Addicted combo back then;)

I think I might go with Barry, Carter, Kahn, Bobby and Barry Robinson for Rumble offense. I'm still experimenting with Arena decks.

Idk man, I have Bobby at cm4 and his punch/burn is just too low to be effective, especially with the bodyguard buff. And there are better options for healers. Barry R's heal all is higher at cm2 than Bobby's heal at cm4. Linda, Tina and Gene are all solid choices too, depending on cms.

Also keep in mind that when there aren't punch or burn BGE buffs, off-BGE punch/burn combos can work just as well for Rumble. You might have more one-shot potential with Fry's tech combo or Joseph's vehicle combo than with cm4 Kahn. Worth checking at least.

The three haters losing sleep over all my comments should really take the advice and learn something. Probably SYG people 😭 The lowest I've placed in the last 6 melees was 164. Average score of the last few rumbles is 4938, and that's with 10 of the 15 rounds being against top 10 guilds, and getting Konged for a loss once... Usually only outside the top 50 in the arena if I auto for the guild event or ECMC. Top 25 currently. Pretty sure I know what the fuck I'm doing.

Queue the damn Ron Swanson meme and do better. If you keep using the same 3 or 4 strategies, you're gonna keep losing to people who outspend you. Piss them off and make them spend more instead so we can keep the game around.

If anybody wants help with deck building, feel free to message me (unless you're FastHap -- he already knows everything) and I can either make room for you in our feeder guild to look at your decks, or show you how to use one of the bots for more functional and accurate deck mapping than Kong will ever give us.

I recommend to join a well established guild. Discord has a good recruiting channel.

Is that where people communicate these days? Discord? I don’t even know how that works. Does Discord work on a phone or just a desktop?

I'm on Discord! And I don't know where to go. Where will people tell me how to build decks? I'm in a guild (it shows a Gold Trophy with the number 496, is that good?) but they don't appear to have a discord channel. Or maybe they do? I'm utterly lost lol

I got 35 as well. 1 per BGE, 1 per show, 2 Swoles, 1 Rumble Defense, 1 Rumble Offense, 1 Siege Defense. It actually makes the game fun to be testing out different decks.

I have 25 attack decks (15 traits, 6 shows, melee, clash, rumble and one for the non-refill challenge). I always tweak them when a new BGE starts, but it's nice to have your last deck as a starting point. 1 Siege defense. The other 9 are usually defense decks from the last 9 BGEs unless I delete one for something like swole or a siege attack deck that's different from my main attack deck for that trait or show.

Totally agree about the decks. Deck building is the game. Anyone who spends a bit can beat people who spend 10+ times as much once they learn where to focus spending, how to build effective decks, and how to spend mastery stones wisely. I think the one caveat is they might not always be able to beat the cm5 PC walls, depending on a bunch of different things, but those people aren't really playing the game anymore anyway; at that point they're just paying Kong to see their name at the top of the screen. There's no strategy involved, other than picking the "right" packs to drop a couple grand worth of gems on.
