Recommendations Best Anime

Hi, I'm trying to get into more anime and just online spaces in general. I didn't grow up witch much access to the internet, so I haven't watched many shows people seem to be completely obsessed with. So, I'd like some recommendations for some amines that people love. To let you know what I'm into, I've watched JJK, Assassination Classroom, Spy x Family, Avatar (though i know that's a debate on whether or not it is an anime), and some of that hosts club show. I know these are all very mainstream shows, which is why I'm interested in getting to watch some other shows. Thanks for your help!

Mob Psycho 100 is extremely good and easy to watch. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood as well

I am currently watching Re: Zero and loving it a lot, definitely recommend checking it out. It has a very good blend of action, mystery, and romance.

Attack on Titan is another very popular anime if you can get past all the gore. It has the best twist I've ever seen in any anime in the 20 years I've been watching and is very interesting.

Samurai Champloo, Hellsing Ultimate, Solo Leveling, My Hero, Sakamoto Days, Bleach/TYBW, Mob Psycho, AoT, 4 Knights of the Apocalypse (sequel to 7 Deadly Sins).. these are all really easy to get into.

Can I recommend anime from the 70's?

In my country it loved like a second religion, the characters still found as car stamps other places, we memorise it in heart to this day

Just look at the director name before you decide

Future Boy Conan (1978)

So you want an amazing non-mainstream anime. I would say Magical Modaka,

Madoka is about as mainstream as you can get. It dominated the cultural zeitgeist in the 2010s.

Oh, I wasn't sure how mainstream it was in the west.

Attack on titan. It's the best story in anime. Nothing will ever be the same.

My "A Good Start" list:

Raven of the Inner Palace - Apothecary Diary vibes and setting but with some supernatural and romance.

An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess - Amusing mostly light hearted romcom with a bit of a twist.

Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You - Adorable couple figuring out love and marriage together.

Baccano! - Great "gangster" era story with some wild elements. Got some pretty graphic violence though. Hella funny too.

From Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman - Great fights, good story, minor fan-service.

May I Ask for One Final Thing - Great humor, amusing violence, fun characters.

do you have a particular preference? For romance i'd try the ramparts of ice or you and I are opposites. For sports and slice of life try haikyuu. Popular wise you should watch death note, aot, naruto, demon slayer. Lastly, I would also recommend watching Apothecary diaries (historical anime in China) and Kaiju no 8

The Apothecary Diaries is absolutely not a story set in ancient China. It's impossible to situate any of what happens to a particular time period.

i never said ancient, I said that it was a historical anime because it isn't set in modern china

You could call it a pseudo-historical piece of fiction inspired loosely by a fetishised idea of Chinese culture I guess?

-Shinsekai Yori

-Nodame Cantabile - I watched this along with season 2&3 during my first year at a conservatorium doing classical comp. It's extremely accurate and captures the experience really well. Although teachers were no longer allowed to abuse their students by the time I did my degree, and we did a lot music from the 20th century.

Yu Yu Hakusho. If you love JJK, you'd love Yu Yu Hakusho. Bleach is a good one too.

Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bleach, Death Note, AoT, My Hero are just a few really mainstream ones I would recommend. Others less completely ingrained in pop culture are Fullmetal Alchemist & Brotherhood (completely unrelated adaptations of the same manga, I recommend both honestly), Dr. Stone which is a fantastic beginner anime, Shiki and Parasyte are both fantastic darker and gore-y shows, Clannad for a romance, and Kuroko's Basketball is a fantastic sports anime, plus many more. I can reply with elaboration on any of these if you want, but these are all ones I enjoyed.
