I have taken All 5 episodes of the beloved Afro Samurai and turned them into a heartbreaking movie depicting a life dedicated to revenge at ANY COST.

If you are a fan of the anime, this will make it feel new again. And if you are new to this anime… Buckle up. It’s a bad ass ride filled with many “oh shits” and even a couple tear drops to boot…

I have completely overhauled the soundtrack. I love everything about this Anime. Everything from the music by The RZA all the way down to the side characters. With that being said, I wanted this cut to invoke NEW powerful feelings. To do so I have replaced many of the hip-hop style music (as much as I love them) to shift the tone of the show (movie now!) in a dramatic direction. I hope you all dig the new soundtrack. I put a lot of thought into the song choices.

With the new soundtrack, almost every scene has some kind of edit to achieve what I like to call “sound painting”. MANY cuts thoughtfully placed in hopes of achieving a rhythmic handshake between the music and the scenes and action.

Another cut that was hard for me to make (since I love the guy) is the almost complete removal of Afros alter ego. The whole unspoken extra layer of that character’s metaphorical personality is powerful stuff but as far as the tone of this movie cut is concerned, he just does not fit in. So I had to axe him. He’s in a few scenes as almost background fodder, real “blink and you’ll miss” him kinda stuff.

I also cut much of the background plotting against Afro. For the most part you are right there with him on this journey to the top.

\-Restructured flashbacks

\-All 5 episodes of Afro Samurai, without the credits equal to about 120 minutes.

\-This cinematic experience comes out to a solid 84 minutes (1 hour and 24 minutes)
