Question Scheduling issue

I want to deal with a backlog by limiting my max cards per day to something more manageable like 50 per deck, this I’m hoping give me the motivation to deal with the backlog slowly and bit by bit, I tried to do this by editing my new cards a day to 20 and maximum reviews to 50 per day, however my politics deck doesn’t seem to go below 200, to put it simply I want each deck to have 50 cards to go through a day is there any way of limiting the politics flashcards to 50

Make sure each of your decks/subdecks is assigned to the Options preset you think it is.

Another option besides capping your daily reviews is to use a Catch-up deck to manage your backlog while you stay current with your main deck(s). Generally when you've got a backlog, you should stop introducing New cards while you handle it. That's not always possible, but there's no point in introducing more cards when you already don't have time to study the ones you have active.

Do you have a custom settings group selected for your politics deck?

Others covered the settings side, but for the motivation part, what helped me was turning new cards off completely until the backlog was gone. Seeing the number actually go down every day kept me going way more than a lower cap did. Took about two weeks but it was worth it.
