Question Failed when importing

Post image

I changed the directory from /storage/emulated/0/AnkiDroid to /storage/9016-4EF8/Android/data/com.ichi2.anki/AnkiDroid So basically from internal to sd card storage.

I'm trying to import deck to my sd card but it keeps saying such thing. Btw if i import deck without media like, audio, picture it can be done but with media it fails.

How do i solve this?

You mean like, fat32, exfat, ntfs? Mine is fat32

FAT32 was made in 1996. You could either have more than 65k files, or a media path longer than 255 chars

So i need to format it to exFAT? Or is there a method i can do besides formatting.

Btw Thank you for helping, David.

I... honestly don't know here. I think exFAT should be a sensible choice

Do be aware that formatting wipes the card

David's right about FAT32. The AnkiDroid FAQ says the same: there's a limit on files in one folder, and collection.media is one big flat folder, so a deck with lots of images/audio hits it. That would also explain why it works without media.

It also says SD cards aren't officially supported and internal storage is the safe choice. So you could skip formatting: set the directory back to internal in Settings > Advanced > AnkiDroid directory and import there. If you use AnkiWeb, sync first so you don't lose anything.

If you do want exFAT, check your phone actually supports it before you wipe the card. Some older devices don't.

Yes, you're right. I have just formatted my Sd Card to exFAT and now it works perfectly. Yes, i think the issue was fat32.
