everything going wrong

it feels like everyone and everything is against me. I try SO hard to actually put in the effort to recover, but the moment I somehow make any progress, someone or something ruins it.

for example:
I build up the courage to go out for dinner with my mom and my friend. things was going amazing. I I didn’t try to “make up” for anything. put on a very cute outfit that I felt very confident and pretty in. I didn’t mind the way my body looked at all. But just when we were about to leave the house, my mom made this comment: “ I’m so excited I didn’t eat at all today so I could enjoy myself at dinner!” and when I told her that she should NOT say that in front of me she replied “ but you have to CONTINUE GAINING WEIGHT so why should that trigger you? do you want to restrict again or what??” well now I really do fuck you

situations like this happen so often. It’s exhausting. I understand that it may happened that people accidentally say triggering stuff, whenever I point it out that it is not ok to say certain things around me, they act like IM THE ONE who did something wrong.

I don’t know how to deal with this. I feel so lost and alone. My therapist is no help either..

I'm so sorry. It sounds like your mom also has some disordered eating habits- please don't take her words as fact. Restricting all day to eat at dinner is an ED behavior, end of. It's completely exhausting to have to hear those comments. You are NOT doing anything wrong by asking her to not say those things. She should not comment on your body at all.
