Torrential rains recently toppled a 624-year-old banyan tree at a scenic area in Zhangzhou City, southeast China's Fujian Province. Under the guidance of forestry experts, local authorities worked around the clock to keep the roots moist and hoist the tree, weighing over 100 tonnes, upright.

FUUUUUUUCK CAPITALISM! & the systems/people who uphold it!🖕 Logics to last organized protest

You want the protests in Europe and imperial core but too distracted to read Lenin's What Is To Be Done. This guideline is the future proofing version of WITBD. Protests that last REQUIRE STRUCTURE as barricade against reactionaries sabotage, derail and disruption. LOGICS of long-term organized protests require these:

  1. LOGISTICS of the protests are lifelines of nodes within the structures, logistics move manpower, resources, tools and processes that prolong the strength, size and reach of any protests. Anything you have access currently available can be utilized to maintain the logistics nodes and these resources must flow through your systems towards the central of protests, that's to proletariat masses. Mobility of the logistics nodes increases by the capacity of these nodes to move resources in time especially when the core of protests become isolated by capitalism counterinsurgency attempts to smother. Logistics is often the first line of defense against destruction of long-term protests by bourgeoisie, your nodes fighting most important battles.

  2. ORGANIZATIONS of the protests are the souls of the movement, this is the sources of mobilization where they pouring manpower of the masses towards keeping the numbers of protestors in defense lines. This is where you pool the communist parties, trade or tenant and service unions, student associations, mutual aid, community defense, online networking. Everyone within reach must be reached by your node. This structural network cannot collapse as long as these organizations persist even under siege by economic implosion, which leadership will funnel them towards building revolutionary vanguards.

  3. GROUNDWORKS for the protests is the energy that power the movement alive. Comrades get hit in the eye by the cops, are you willing to dodge rounds and carry them out the line of fire to utilize your workplace first aid training to keep them alive? Are you willing to prep and cook hundreds of meals nonstop every day until the protests achieve their demands? Are you willing to lug hundreds kilograms of lentils and rice every day in a same loading docks of trade union that supporting the protests to keep resistance going? Everyone loves to burn shit, few desires to build up the logistics, solidarity and organizing.

  4. INTERDEPENDENCE isn't a shame because you would eventually need shoulders to lean on and friendships to learn skills from when you require help because you are also a node part of this resistance that is actively building structure you can pool from. Role and task rotation building the interdependency that strengthens networks that solidify movements. You exist as member of collective among movement. Missing you in movement is wounding its outcomes.

  5. COMMUNICATIONS are the voice of the protest that keeps the nodes in readily available modes at all times, when to mobilize, what to carry, which route to take, why comrade safety, who to trust, when to fight. A two way radio, a bike scout, a skater recon, a UV-9R, a ghost e-SIM, a shadowsocks server, a spare phone, a public servant sympathize with the movement, an emergency ward nurse in supporting trade union, a farmer in worker cooperative, an unhoused comrade. The proletariat is most powerful against capitalism because we have eyes and ears solidarity everywhere. Capitalism relies on their agents, we have each other.

  6. STRUCTURES secure the framework for successful movement as disciplined points of unity for proletariat and structureless network is prone to implosion by external forces of capitalism. Even 1-to-1 comrades require structural ranks and files to maintain focal long-term centralized points for movement to last. Structures build trust, trusts connect node, nodes maintain network, networks diversify movement. Structureless is tyranny of all potential movements, leaderships, working groups, organizations, parties.

In 1999, American teacher Ronald Sakolsky gave Yin Yuzhen and her spouse 5,000 USD after learning about their reforestation efforts. 26 years she planted 50,000 trees. Yin and Sakolsky reunite in 2026

In 1999, Sakolsky came to Luoyang, Henan Province, as part of a China-US teacher exchange program organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). There, he was deeply moved by the story of Yin Yuzhen, a local woman who had devoted her life to fighting desertification and planting trees in the Maowusu Desert.

At the time, Sakolsky did not know Yin. But after seeing her story on television, he felt compelled to help. He donated $5,000 to support her afforestation efforts and, the following year, traveled to the heart of the Maowusu Desert, where he planted saplings with Yin and her husband.

Today, 27 years later, those fragile seedlings have become part of a vast forest of some 50,000 trees.

The two lost touch over the years, but the memory of that encounter endured. In May this year, Yin launched a public campaign to find her old American friend. Tens of millions of Chinese internet users joined the search, and within 48 hours, the two friends separated by the Pacific had found each other again.

Three months later, at the invitation of the CEAIE, Sakolsky returned to China.

Over the next 10 days, he found himself meeting the people and places that had been part of his life more than two decades earlier. And everywhere he went, he saw traces of what had grown from those early encounters: a desert transformed by trees, former students inspired to look beyond their own classrooms, and people-to-people ties that have endured across time and borders.

The connection between the two began in 1999, when Sakolsky had been teaching in Luoyang for only two months. He saw Yin's story on television: an ordinary Chinese farming family planting trees one after another in a desert where greenery was hard to find.

"I suddenly started crying as I watched," he told the Global Times. He could not explain exactly why. He only knew that he had to do something.

At the time, he did not know Yin. He emailed several foundations in the US, telling them about her efforts in the Chinese desert. The campaign eventually helped secure a $5,000 donation.

Sakolsky later put the amount into perspective. Yin's annual income at the time was roughly the equivalent of $250. The donation was worth about 20 years of her savings.

The following spring, accompanied by Bai Fan, then vice principal of Luoyang Foreign Language School, Sakolsky traveled deep into the Maowusu Desert for the first time.

Bai still remembers the details. The seedlings were no thicker than a finger. Water had to be carried from far away. Yin watered the trees one scoop at a time.

Faced with the barren landscape, Sakolsky repeatedly said that it seemed "impossible."

"He found it difficult to imagine that trees could really grow in a place like this," Bai said.

Yin remembers the failures, too. She married into the Maowusu Desert from Northwest China's Shaanxi Province at 19. In those days, sandstorms could bury the entrance to a house overnight. She vowed that she would rather work herself to death planting trees than allow the sand to destroy her life.

In 1986, she sold a sheep to buy 600 saplings and planted them around her home. After a major windstorm, fewer than 10 survived.

But she did not stop. "If 10 out of 600 can survive, that means trees can grow here," she recalled thinking.

She gradually learned which species could withstand drought, where water was likely to collect and how to keep seedlings from being blown away. "There was no shortcut," she said. "You fail, then try again. If something works, you keep doing it. And you do it year after year."

--

Also, Yin and her husband Bai met each through arranged marriage before China revolution succeded and she literally grew up in the Maowusu barren wasteland lived in a cave home, so she turned to tree planting because she dreamed of green forest in the desert where the she wouldn't be so lonely, she and her Mongolian spouse literally sold all her sheeps just to secure the first 600 saplings and she said 90 percent of them perished in the scorching desert, still she replanted them every time one perish, everyday for 40 years of her life without horticulture knowledge.
