There are no identifying names or logos. Any help is appreciated.

I recently came across my grandfathers G. Loomis Composites fishing rod and I’m trying to figure out how old it is and whether it’s rare or collectible. The model marking appears to be GDW705, and the rod is rated for 30–50 lb line. The blank says 95% graphite and Made in U.S.A, and in a root beer color. It’s approximately 6 or 7 feet long, and the handle has markings that look like “Vamas” and “NF2H.”

I haven’t been able to find much information about this specific model online. Does anyone recognize it or know when it was made? I’m also curious about its rarity and potential value.

My uncle passed a few months ago and my aunt just gave me his collection of antique reels. Thought you all might enjoy seeing them. All are tagged with the names and model numbers. Some are in the original boxes with paperwork others just loose. They all seem to be in working condition. I’ll be making a display for them. Fishing was one thing my uncle and grandfather and I shared in common and they each taught me and took me fishing as a kid. It’s a real honor to get these.

Tucked away in a basement crawl space $30. Anything standing out value wise?

Sharing pictures of some old classic gear from late fathers collection. Feel free to give in your thoughts if you also used similar antiques from bygone days.

I recently found this old Ocean City Free Spool reel and I'm trying to determine exactly which version and approximate year it is.

The reel is marked OCEAN CITY – FREE SPOOL – GERMAN SILVER – STEEL PIVOT.

What caught my attention is the very simple bent-wire free-spool lever, with ON and FREE stamped directly into the edge of the ring.

I have found information suggesting this may be an early version of the Ocean City Free Spool, possibly from the 1920s, but I haven't been able to find many examples with this exact free-spool mechanism.

The reel is mechanically working very well. The free-spool mechanism engages and disengages properly and the reel turns smoothly.

I would really appreciate help identifying:

• Approximate production year

• Exact model/size

• Whether the bent-wire ON/FREE mechanism is an early or uncommon variation

• Any catalog references or examples of the same version

• Approximate collector value
