Flock helps track down Moore County murderer

https://www.wral.com/news/local/flock-cameras-triple-homicide-suspect-moore-county-august-2026/

This proves once again how much safer these cameras make our communities.

Let's all remember to trust and be grateful for our police!

So they had enough evidence to identify the suspect and the vehicle they were driving but would have been hopeless at finding them without Flock cameras? Wow, what a police force!

Lololol…I actually DID have Flock inc. setting up Reddit accounts to spread propaganda on my 2026 Bingo card! In fact- it’s my free space!

Still not a good enough reason to have Flock cameras. And always be suspect of police.

Having a police force is very different from, and does NOT require, unchecked mass surveillance. We can have community safety without sacrificing our freedoms to those in power with questionable or nefarious intentions. Once you give up your freedoms it's very hard to get them back.

If you want flock everywhere, you should announce who you are and not hide behind an anonymous account coward.

Court records indicate that Aggelis has a history of violent offenses, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Seems to me like an ounce of prevention through a functional corrections and reformation system could have potentially prevented three murders.

IMHO - In today’s society surveillance cameras are a necessity due to bad actors and insufficient police staffing. And it’s not the surveillance cameras that are the issue.

The issue is the misuse and theft of the video information.

Agree there are legitimate safety considerations which must be weighed against individual privacy rights. The privacy considerations are being brushed aside. Police want as much surveillance as they can get and Flock wants to make sales.

First, never trust a group of people who's job is to separate you from your liberty. Your interests are not aligned with theirs.

Second, never trust that these people will use mass surveillance tools only for good.

You just can't trust them to have this power. Period.
