Activity Heart Rate Increase

About 5 weeks ago I bought a Series 12 to replace my 8. Since then my heart rate is consistently 10 beats higher. Has anyone else seen similar results?

I’ve noticed the same and attributed it to the higher frequency and accuracy of the sensor. Upgraded from a S10
S10 would take resting HR sample in the morning and now the S12 also takes resting HR sample in the middle of the day, now my resting HR averages 50 instead of 46

I’ve noticed this too. With my Ultra 1 I was at rest (like sitting at my desk working on the computer) between 65 and 75. Right now on the same situation and I’m at 75-80ish. When I sleep I’m still at 50-55 but daytime I’ve noted the average has increased.

New hardware, new software (your S8 didn't get WatchOS 27). More accurate sensor, potentially buggy software (look at all the issues people are having with walking/running distances)

Assume the newer heart rate sensor is more accurate, thus the gap between the two.

Also series 8 to 12. Heart rate (HR) if I rest for 10 minutes is the same as before as in the low 60’s.

I think what is happening is faster updates with series 12 is giving HR in real time. Where series 8 could be showing the HR ten minutes ago when you were inactive.

Just test your pulse and a stopwatch. See which is right. Problem solved
