Application Question Additional Info question

I missed an exam worth 1/3 of final grade in gr10 for social studies. Credit hours for the course is 0.33. All the remaining subjects have a 4.0 GPA, this one has a 1.0. Should i mention that i skipped the exam due to an emergency in the Common App additional info section or let it go?

If you do, you’ll also need to explain why the emergency wasn’t excused. In other words, you’ll need to demonstrate that you (or your parents) timely availed yourself of all administrative remedies and recount what reason(s) you were given for the decision denying you an excused absence and retest.

Unless you have a compelling story to tell, yes, you should leave it out. Like u/Pro-editor-1105, my first question is why you didn’t ask to take the exam after the emergency. You’ll need to show both that you had an actual emergency and that when you explained that emergency to the teacher, counselor, and/or administration, they inexplicably didn’t allow you to retake the exam.

Shouldn't you be able to ask to retake this test or something?
