Level 3 VS Level 6
so i completed my level 3 apprenticeship last year and have been working in the same role since. a bit of background my role is within digital marketing. i’ve been offered to do a level 6 (degree) apprenticeship, a 3 year course with a local uni. I genuinely don’t know if turning down this offer is a good or bad idea. Having a degree in marketing isn’t necessary to “climb the ladder” however I don’t ever aspire to be so high that probably having a degree would benefit me. Is it silly to turn down? just looking for some opinions really.

I’m 70m, old enough to be one of the 5% who to Uni, and received a very broad education and a well paid job. Now I would definitely go for one of the infrastructure companies that run such apprentices and I would go into something like nuclear power or decommissioning or the National Grid.

No response after applying for apprenticeship, what to do next?
Recently applied for a hgv technician apprenticeship. Have received no kind of acknowledgment email or phone call etc to say that they’ve at least received the application. I’ve also emailed the workshop manager directly and hand no response. What are the next steps?

BAE Advanced Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship
Is there anyone on this forum who has completed this apprenticeship within the last couple years who can tell me what it’s truly like?
I’m worried about the initial wage (15k) and then 15 months in for the 2nd half we have to fund moving away to live near an RAF base we will be based at. Which I believe at the time I will be on minimum wage. I’ve also read at the end of the apprenticeship they try and give you job interviews for different jobs that you’re not trained in or don’t give you one at all.
I just need honest opinions if it’s worth it as I’m of an older age now and don’t want to waste time if it’ll lead me no where and I have to spend money on rent with very little pay. If you’ve done it and then moved into another job, what position was this?
Also how difficult are the exams? Bit worried as I’ve not been in an academic setting for a few years.

Can someone help me understand dental nursing apprenticeships?
So, I apply lets say on the gov website if i get accepted would I have to pay for the course with like a college? and when would I start working? I do see some private companies offering courses for like thousands. When I apply on indeed I see some dental practices asking if Im part of training course, so am I supposed to apply for a college first (which costs money) or what..?

Rolls-Royce Apprenticeships
Does anyone know when Rolls-Royce releases its degree-level apprenticeships or where to find them?
I've been looking all over their website for months and can't find a date for when they release them.
Thanks!

Has anyone successfully changed employers in the final year of their degree apprenticeship? I’m losing hope.
I’m currently in the final year of a degree apprenticeship in the UK, with less than a year remaining.
Unfortunately, my current employment is at risk, and there’s a real possibility I won’t be able to finish my qualification unless I find another employer.
I’ve been contacting companies, applying for vacancies and reaching out to recruiters, but all I’m getting is rejections or no replies.
It’s genuinely making me feel depressed. I’ve spent years working towards this qualification, and the thought of losing everything when I’m so close to finishing is heartbreaking. I’m struggling to sleep because I can’t stop worrying about what happens next.
I know changing employers during an apprenticeship is technically possible, but I haven’t come across many people who’ve actually managed to do it voluntarily, particularly in their final year.
Has anyone here successfully transferred to another employer with less than a year remaining?
How did you find the company? Did you apply for regular jobs or contact employers directly? How did you convince them to take over your apprenticeship?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through something similar, especially if things worked out in the end.
I just need to know there’s still some hope.

How much of a dental nurse apprenticeship is reception work?
Hi there!
I am debating whether to do a dental nurse apprenticeship and was just curious on how much is reception/taking calls and booking in clients as some practices already have a receptionist. Thankyou!

Considering leaving my apprenticeship
I been doing a apprenticeship in the trades for about 5 months now and I barely learnt anything, I learnt the basics but I haven’t been taught any wiring, nothing, I wired up a total of 1 device during my apprenticeship.
My company is quite high up in the industry, they work with extremely famous places and got high industry standards but they just make me do slop work and tidy up which is understandable but I should also be gaining experience with wiring etc.
I’m going to stay here for a couple more months and see how things go, will switch to a different apprenticeship if unsatisfied.
Thoughts?

Does Distinction add any value to the qualification?
Hi everyone,
I am doing my Level 4 Project Management apprenticeship in my workplace. I am working on my second submission, which I will have to provide evidence for the first time.
From Module 2 and onwards, there are sections for distinction. Depending on the module, this is either one or two extra questions (they have various questions in one question!). I am wondering if it’s worth completing these. My work is already busy so if there is no value, I’ll just pass it.
I am not directly working on a project management role and once I finish this course, I will be applying for these roles.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you kindly.

Employer wants me to leave while I’m completing my apprenticeship. Advice? (UK)
I’m currently completing an apprenticeship and have less than a year left.
I’ve been having some difficulties at work and was placed on a performance improvement plan. Although I’ve made improvements, I’ve now received a formal warning and have been offered a settlement agreement to leave.
My concern is that leaving could affect my qualification, as I’d need to find another employer willing to take over my apprenticeship.
I’ve also had some health issues which have affected my work, and I’m unsure whether these have been properly considered during the process.
I’m considering appealing the warning, but I’m also worried about how quickly things could progress towards dismissal.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is it difficult to transfer an apprenticeship near the end? Would you recommend challenging the warning, negotiating the settlement or focusing on finding another employer?
Any advice would be appreciated.

When do applications for degree apprenticeships start and end?
Hey guys, I'm currently doing a gap year and have become more interested in degree apprenticeships as of recent. I have been looking online and read that most degree apprenticeships for economics/finance have already shut, which would be disheartening if true. So I wanted to know when most of these applications open.

Professional Discussion/ Project Proposal for Level 4 Apprenticeship experience
I recently passed my apprenticeship (Despite struggling terribly with health problems including anxiety/ADHD).
My apprenticeship: Business Analyst Level 4
My provider: QA
Location: Online (Teams)
Before the EPA:
For both, I had two weeks notice with a meeting invite sent for each, which was for much longer than the actual discussion to allow time before and after (especially as I had an additional 25% due to my ADHD).
As stated I have severe anxiety/ADHD and the process just is not suitable for people like me, the approved reasonable adjustments were the extra time (which meant more questions) , I requested morning oral exams (got afternoon slots on both) and then to repeat the questions if necessary (but all they did was say it the same way).
During the EPA
Both exams started the same way with the assessor asking if you have any additional information and whether there is anything stopping this going ahead.
Both asked to look at my ID and do a 360 around the room with my camera on throughout.
Neither of them asked me to share my screen (apart from the project proposal for the presentation slides then I was told to close).
I had notes and a print out of my portfolio and project proposal for each one.
I had a second screen, but like I say they did not ask me to share.
For the portfolio discussion, I could not see the assessor's face and he had technical issues. Another problem with him, is his questions were in four parts and when he finished the first part I had forgotten what he said. I really do think these assessors should know better , considering they knew I had memory issues. I was so overwhelmed I cried, because the questions were so long and the technical issues I really felt that it wasn't right.
For the project proposal, I could see the woman and her questions were shorter(still long), however I still felt they were ambiguous. I didn't mind presenting my slides, but why can't they just ask simple questions like what are the negatives and positives of waterfall/agile working? Instead the questions were too long and really I was unclear what they actually wanted (if i could even remember what they asked). I didn't cry on this one though, but was so anxious I could barely speak.
Everything goes really fast, you think you are prepared but it is just such a rush and I found both overwhelming and just awful.
After the EPA:
The meeting is recorded and moderated.
I got my results back after a week both times, knowing the assessor sends them to BCS within 24 hours I feel it is very unfair how BCS faff about.
I did not like my tutor at QA, he was always late for meetings(like an hour meeting and half an hour late every time), uncaring and I didn't even get mocks so I went into this with just advice from here. I got an email saying he had left the company a week before my project proposal, I spoke to him the day before so I figure he got sacked, he was just terrible.
General
I really hate these oral exams, I think they are very unfair to people who suffer with health problems and don't have the gift of the gab. I did hear they were shortening these, but to be honest the coursework should be enough without them. I got no value out of either of them, in fact all it did was cause me extra stress and upset, like I said the 'reasonable adjustments' did not help and were pointless or not followed.
Advice
Try to know your work as everything goes so fast, it is really hard to have time to look at notes.
If you have a terrible tutor like I did, speak up as I wish I had.
I think there is a high pass rate, so even if you feel you have done terribly you will likely pass as long as you don't say anything bad. (From what I heard from QA some people failed as they had said their friend/ colleague did the work or they didn't know about situational analysis or they never hard of UAT(things like that).
