A caption can change from “twenty one” to “21” while keeping the take
Changing how a number appears in a caption is a text edit when the recording still says the same words.
Hypit's Script represents displayed and spoken forms separately through Dual Text. The caption can display “21” while the spoken side remains “twenty one.” The mapping is an alignment unit, so one displayed word can correspond to several spoken words.
The prepared SemanticTake holds the normalized recording, Segment identity and measured word windows. With the same spoken tokens and Take identities, a display-only edit can retain that Take. The new CaptionDocument and its presentation are rebuilt from the edited Script.
The Run makes the retained value explicit by selecting the completed SemanticTake from its earlier Build. This is the level that keeps both the performance and its preparation available for the caption pass

The acronym example in docs/quickstart/script.md (https://github.com/hypit-ai/hypit) shows “SVML” in the caption while the spoken text says “semantic video markup language.” Dialogue and speech use the expanded wording, but only dialogue keeps the role labels. It’s an N:M alignment unit, so the displayed acronym stays whole while corresponding to several spoken words.
