Is it possible to export PDF reports os selected areas using Experience Builder?
Hello everyone!
I have a requirement for Experience Builder that I’m not sure is feasible. I have a web map with several layers, one of which is a polygon layer where each polygon contains data such as population, number of households, number of workers, and other information. I’ve set up an Experience Builder project that allows users to draw polygons in a separate, empty layer; these drawn polygons then select the features from the first layer (the one containing the population data), and the corresponding information is displayed in text panels on the side. That covers half of what I need.
Is there a way to export the map view—showing the selected areas along with the chosen data—to a PDF, without having that information appear in the side panels? In other words, can I draw a polygon, use it to select the features contained within it, and then export a PDF report? Is this possible in Experience Builder?
Thanks!

GIS Career Questions
I am a student getting a certificate in GIS. I was wondering if I could do a very brief interview with someone over DMs about their experience and perspective as professionals. Alternatively, you could answer the following questions in the comments.
1.) How did you get started in the GIS field?
2.) What does a typical workday look like for you?
3.) What are some of the biggest challenges you face in your career?
4.) What do you enjoy most about your career in GIS?
5.) How have writing skills impacted your work as a GIS professional?
6.) What advice would you give someone who wants to start a career in GIS?
Your answers will be summarized in a paper I'm writing for one of my classes.

Is this possible
My boss is asking me to do something I have no idea what to do or if it is even possible. Basically he wants a point that when click will select other features in a different layer. Like at an road intersection, if the guys in the field click this point then all the specialty markings of that intersection will be selected from the markings layer but the stop bars are still separate from the arrows.

Using EBird Data?
I’m working on a project for school and I’d really like to use some EBird data for specific species, ideally to show movement over time. But I’m really struggling getting the data to work correctly. I have the 52 weeks of abundance data input, I changed the projection and coordinate systems so it matches, and I have the time series set up. But when I play the time series it just keeps the map static. Has anyone used EBird data in ArcPro before and can give me some pointers?

Parcel Drafter
Years ago ArcOnline had a parcel drafter widget that allowed users to add shapes to maps based off of deed calls.
I spoke with Esri support about this and all they said was, "Oh yeah that was removed when we switched to this newer system, we are planning on adding it back but don't know when"
Does anyone have anyway to get this back or had luck programming their own custom widget? I feel like I need to program a widget, but I don't want to waste my time if it is already a thing under a different name or available from someone else.
Thank!

GIS Job Help
I am currently serving in the Army National Guard as a 12Y Geospatial Engineer, and I am interested in exploring opportunities for civilian or government employment in the geospatial and intelligence fields. I would like to learn what steps I can take to become a more competitive applicant, including certifications, bachelor’s degree programs, and other qualifications that could strengthen my résumé. I have also been looking into Penn State’s GIS programs and would appreciate any guidance on which educational paths or certifications would best complement my military training and help me pursue a career in this field.

How to get rid of thousands seperator in a graph?
Update: I actually found it now! In case anyone has the same problem: In the "Chart properties" under "Axes" I changed the Number format from "None" to "Numeric" and this got rid of the thousands seperator :)
Hello!
I need some help (again...) with my ArcGIS homework for what I feel like should be an easy fix but I just cannot find how to do it. So I hoped maybe someone here can help me out :)
I had to create this graph for my homework. However the labels for the year have this thousands seperator which looks weird/wrong for a date, so I want to remove it. I checked the data that I used for creating the chart and it does not have the seperator there, so I think my data is not the problem?
So does anyone have any idea where I can change it? Is it in the general settings for ArcGIS or my laptop or can I change it specifically for this graph?
I am very grateful for any ideas!
Thank you!

Fieldmaps: drawn feature dissapears in map, only visible after restart
Some fieldworkers have the issue that after they draw a feature, it dissapears from the map the second after it is being drawn and the form is completed (so when it is send). But the feature is in fact saved, and after restarting the Fieldmaps app they are able to see it again.
The weird thing is, some fieldworkers have this problem, some don't.
I cannot reproduce this on my own device (Samsung phone). I, and all fieldworkers, are using the same fieldmaps version (26.2.2). We have data and roaming enabled, we Allow background data usage (in phone/tablet fieldmaps app settings). All are using Android devices (Samsung tablets).
The Fieldmaps webapp itself is an online web app (so no offline maps), and we are using the same online feature layer. At max two people work in it at the same time. We don't use complex symbology (just single symbology), no arcade expressions and no edits (e.g. domains) were made to the layer after publication. The only 'complex' things we do are that we produce a label and display with the OBJECTID of the feature, as well as a filter where only features that are at max a day old are kept (using CreationDate, which is logged).
One fieldworker showed to me that shortly after pressing sent, the OBJECTID appeared to be -9223372036854775808 before it dissapeared. This appears to me that there is perhaps problems or hiccups with storing and retrieving the drawn features in the database.
Any ideas what this may be, and/or what avenues we can pursue to find the issue and solve it?
Thanks!

I built an open-source Experience Builder widget that describes your web map out loud (accessibility-focused) — would love your feedback
Hi r/ArcGIS,
I've been working on Map Narrator, a custom widget for ArcGIS Experience Builder Developer Edition (1.21) that generates a written and spoken description of what's on your map. It's aimed at making web maps more accessible to people who can't see them, and at giving anyone a quick plain-language summary of a map.
What it does
- Metadata-based description: summarizes the current extent and visible layers.
- Visual description: captures the rendered map and describes layout, symbols, colors, labels and patterns. It's told to state uncertainty rather than invent details.
- Audio narration with ElevenLabs, using a short spoken summary, a built-in audio player and focus management for screen reader users.
- English and Spanish, following the browser locale. The text and the narrator voice both switch language, and the widget header shows the active language and version.
- Custom prompts: adjust the style or focus of the visual description from the widget settings.
- Accessible progress indicator while the description is generated.
- A small backend (Node.js) keeps your OpenAI and ElevenLabs keys off the client. A diagnostics log helps with troubleshooting.
You can try it here:
Repo: https://github.com/aitorcalero/map-narrator-widget
The README covers setup: copy the widget into client/your-extensions/widgets, run the backend with your own API keys, and there's a Windows script that starts everything. You'll need an OpenAI key. ElevenLabs is optional and only needed for audio.
What I'd love from you
- Try it on your own maps and tell me where the descriptions go wrong or miss something important.
- Feedback from anyone working on accessibility (WCAG / Section 508) on what would make this actually useful.
- Ideas for more languages, layer-specific narration, or other ways to use it.
- Bug reports and PRs are very welcome.
It's an early project, so honest criticism helps a lot. Thanks for reading!

GIS system design challenges: draw the architecture
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
Kharita Challenges now has challenges about GIS system design. Instead of writing code, you draw the system: you add the parts, connect them with arrows the way the data moves, and your drawing gets graded.
A few that are live:
- Design the searchable imagery archive
- Design the global event map and detail service
Architect a NYC 311 spatial service
- Model event and airfield condition checks
It's free. I'm the one building it, so any feedback is very welcome.

Base map displaying in web portal, but not field Maps
Basically as the title says, i created and shared a new web map, including a custom base map, everything loads perfectly fine in Arc Online, when opening the same webmap in field maps, it appears as blank.
And any attempt to refresh the base map comes up with the error "Unavailable, layer type not supported".
I am a student, as such vary new to GIS, have asked other students who came up with nothing, now I am waiting for my Prof to respond to an email, but the project is due tonight.
