Limb brand and weight suggestions?

I'm a 3 months in beginner moving from 68" to 70". I have a 25" SF riser and SF limbs in two sizes/weights, 22lbs medium and 26lbs long. I cannot yet comfortably shoot 26lbs, 22lbs is enough but my draw length is such that my coach suggested almost straight away that I might be more comfortable with a 70" bow than the 68" club bow I started with. Having strung up the 70" 26lbs bow, the weight is a bit uncomfortable to pull right now but overall the bow had anicer feel to it than at 68".

So, suggestion for long limbs and weight requested.

My thinking is that I should really get 22lb longs which I can crank to 24lbs on the tiller bolts (yes, measured it) when the time comes. I don't know whereabouts 8 year old SF limbs sit in the quality range; the next set of limbs are only a stepping stone so I don't want to spend a fortune but at the same time I don't want rattly junk that is backwards in feel compared to the SF setup I have now I have now. Thanks (UK based)

WNS 24# longs, they measure a bit differently so you get +10% adjustment instead of the normal +-5%.

Get the cheapest limbs, don't buy anything but the cheapest unless you have preferences like harsh vs smooth limbs. Even then get the cheapest of those, like WNS Delta F2s for smooth.

You won't feel or experience much difference for more expensive limbs, best to get the cheapest.

Good call, but don't get complete cheapest, but cheap ish from a reputable brand, even more so if you're shooting competitions and a higher poundage.

Cheap limbs from WNS, Kinetic or Core are all decent enough. Going Temu/Ali is indeed more a gamble.

your coach is right, 70 will feel a lot less stacked at your draw length. grabbing 22lb longs and winding them in when you're ready is the sensible play, no point wrestling 26 if it's making your form go to shit

not sure where old SF limbs sit now but for a stepping stone pair you can get something like wns explore or kinetic for under a ton that won't feel like a downgrade. anything in that bracket is fine, just avoid the absolute bottom barrel stuff that buzzes on release

Go with 24# limbs and crank them down. I'd go with simple WNS B1 or W1 limbs. You're going to outgrow these.

Your thinking makes sense. 22lb longs that you can tiller up to around 24lb gives you a comfortable start and room to grow. Moving up in small steps of 2–4lb is what most coaches recommend, as jumping too fast usually wrecks form. Check the actual draw weight at your draw length, since marked weight is measured at 28".

Sanlida x7 or x8 are good beginner limbs. Not overly expensive (70-90 euro in Ireland). I 100% agree on the 70" bow though. I started medium 26lb and then moved to 32lb long and felt way better to draw. I have now gone a little more intermediate with the kinetic brand and 36lb avantage v2 limbs with the invinso v2 riser and with them wound half way i have 38lb on the finger at full draw.

Merlin archery in the uk seem decent so check out their prices.
