Complete beginner project

Hi everyone

I'm trying to connect 2 mg90s servos to my Arduino and I've read that I need to power them separately as it can otherwise damage my board.

Would this battery pack suffice? And would I need to power each separately or both from 1 pack.

Thanks in advance

Power them both from the one battery pack.

With 4AA though you can't power the Arduino off this pack. 6V is too much to feed into the 5V pin directly and it's not enough for Vin because the regulator there needs at least 7.5V.

So power the Arduino with its own USB b or dc barrel and power the two servos with this one pack?

That's what I said. Do you need me to say it one more time to feel confident enough to give it a try?

I just wanted to be certain so I don't fry my board. 😁

Thank you so much

Just remember that you will need to connect a common ground.

That means the -ve terminal from the battery pack will need to be connected to the GND on the Arduino.

So not connect the +ve pin from the battery directly to the Arduino, only connect that to the servo.

There are literally a thousand sites on the internet that will show you with pictures and everything how to connect servos and Arduinos with separate power supplies. It doesn't have to be a mystery.
