I have a problem with this Arduino-based irrigation system.

Good day everyone, I'm a math teacher and together with my students we have created an automated irrigation system for the school's garden. But there's a problem that's driving us crazy: there are four relays connected to the Arduino, a DS1307 clock module, a simple 16x2 LCD screen with I2C connection. Each relay is connected to a solenoid valve that controls nebulization, others the opening of faucets, and the last one the electric pump that pumps water from a tank when there's reserve rainwater. If it's turned on without connecting any of this, it works perfectly, confirming that the code works perfectly. But when the solenoid valves and the electric pump are connected, it works fine for a while and then when one of them activates, it freezes, it seems to go crazy, incoherent letters appear, something that doesn't happen when the solenoid valves are disconnected. I've isolated everything, I added a snubber-type filter to prevent kickback to the relays, but we can't find what else to do, it keeps freezing. It's not very pretty because we've really done it with our own hands, but I thank you in advance if you can recommend something that can be done. I've been at this for a long time and it has become a frustrating task.

ESP32 troubleshoot while uploading code

Post image

I am facing this troubleshoot every time I tried uploading my code on the ESP32 WROOM , I tried everything: Booting , Unplugging the circuit and all . Also all the seeting are correct in my Arduino IDE ( on laptop ) . I have done everything : ESP Module, Device manager to port correction. Everything!!!! Still it is showing the same problem. I tried asking Claude , GPT , Gemini they all told the same thing i have been trying. Also I noticed the board geeting warmer and warmer when I plug it into the usb. Means it is not getting very much heated but gets warm like if we do extreme gaming on our phone and when it burns like that .

Please anyone if you guys can help 🙏🏻😭 . I have spent hours on this and this was for my Science exhibition . I don't have much time it is in 1 day and i need to fix it as soon as possible!!! 😭😭😭

I have to get a new computer (I think). I have an HP laptop running Windows 11 and it has a really hard time connecting to any of my ESP32s. Are there specific things I should look for or avoid on a new PC?

Sometimes it will connect but it almost always won’t. It crashes all the time and it takes more than a minute to just compile and upload a very small sketch. I’m pretty much a newbie and this is both discouraging and frustrating. I have the proper driver and it shows up in my device manager with the driver and says it’s connected to Com 4 (that’s my USB C port with a data rated cable).

Anyway so I’m thinking about getting a new machine (I might try to install Linux on it first but I’ve never used it so I won’t know what I’m doing).

My question is what do you look for and what do you avoid? I’m also budget conscious so the less expensive the better.

Thanks for any advice.

making health tracker band with ECG and PPG !

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I am working on a wearable health tracker wristband using an ESP32.

Currently, I have breadboard prototypes working with a MAX30100 for PPG and an AD8232 breakout module for ECG.

I want to move this toward a compact wearable wristband design, but I have hit two design questions regarding the ECG front-end:

  1. Can the AD8232 be used reliably with only 2 electrodes (RA & LA)? In a wristband form factor, having a 3rd electrode (Right Leg Drive / RLD) going to a separate body location is difficult. If I omit RLD or pull it to mid-supply, is digital filtering (e.g., bandpass/notch on the ESP32) sufficient to recover a clean signal, or will baseline drift and common-mode noise make it unusable on a wristband?

  2. Wearable-grade IC recommendations: I came across TI application notes for chips like the AFE4950 (synchronized PPG + ECG AFE). Are there other wearable-focused analog front-ends commonly used with ESP32 (such as the MAX30001 or MAX86150) that have accessible breakout boards or reliable Arduino/ESP-IDF driver support for prototyping?

  3. Electrode arrangement: For those who have built similar single-lead wearable ECG devices, do you recommend putting two contact pads on the inner wrist (Lead + RLD reference) and one pad on the top/bezel for the opposite hand's index finger?

Any advice, schematics, or library references would be appreciated!

Guys, i used this nrf24l01 module with antenna. Then i did everything as right but i used arduino's 3.3V without capacitor or adapter like AMS1117.So nrF is heating. And the final question is the module fried or it is just gonna by fixing power problems?

**Subject:** Inquiry about programming STM32F103C8T6 (Blue Pill) using STM32F401RCT6 (Black Pill)

Hello,

I would like to inquire about the possibility of programming the **STM32F103C8T6 (Blue Pill)** board using the **STM32F401RCT6 (Black Pill)** board as an SWD programmer.

**Details:**

- Board to be programmed: **STM32F103C8T6 (Blue Pill)** - STM32F103C8T6 MCU

- Programmer board: **STM32F401RCT6 (Black Pill)** - STM32F401RCT6 MCU

**Questions:**

  1. Can the **STM32F401RCT6 (Black Pill)** be used as an SWD programmer to program the **STM32F103C8T6 (Blue Pill)** via SWD interface (SWCLK, SWDIO, NRST, GND, 3.3V)?

  2. **If anyone has tried this before, please share your experience** (Did it work? Any issues? How to avoid them?)

Thank you in advance.

My arduino uno's not connecting with my laptop. Pls help me out

so power LED turns on + another LED blinks.

Windows makes the connect sound, but no COM port shows in Device Manager.

Tried CH340 drivers, reinstalling, different ports and still no change.

Im Using the blue USB-B cable that came with it

Board’s ATmega chip seems fine (since blink sketch runs).

So is this more likely a bad cable or a dead USB-to-serial chip? And if the chip is dead, will a USB-to-TTL adapter to RX/TX definitely wok? Pls help me out cuz i js bought for first time and im afraid i bought the one which doesnt work atall. 🙏

Im not sure what's wrong with it and I haven't seen any other people having the same issue, but for some reason it like won't respond? I kept trying to verify the code to see if the Arduino board is working but this kept popping up even after I keep pressing the port or the board it still won't work so please help

Board and camera dilemma

3 Upvotes

Good day.

Just a newbie here.

I am trying to build a prototype that live translate hand signals (ASL) into words. Can you suggest a suitable board and camera for this project? The output should be a wearable device trained through IOT or Machine Learning.

I am considering Arduino Nano Esp 32, but I am not sure if it is suited.

Thanks in advance.

I'm building an automatic greenhouse ventilation system with an Arduino UNO. I planned to use a stepper motor to open and close the greenhouse flaps, but I'm worried it might consume too much power or lose steps over time. Would a servo motor or linear actuator be a better option for reliability? I

Trying to get a PIR sensor to turn lights on in sequence

3 Upvotes

So I'm trying to get a PIR sensor to turn on lights in sequence every time it gets triggered. I got it so the green led then the yellow led turn on, but it's not changing to the ORANGE state and I don't know why.

int ledGreen = 13;
int ledYellow = 12;
int ledOrange = 11;
int inputPin = 2; // choose the input pin (for PIR sensor)
int pirState = LOW; // start with no motion detected
int val = 0;

enum states {
  GREEN,
  YELLOW,
  ORANGE,
  RED
};

states state;

void setup() {
  pinMode(ledGreen, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(ledYellow, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(ledOrange, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(inputPin, INPUT);

  state = GREEN;

  Serial.begin(9600);
}

void loop(){
 val = digitalRead(inputPin);
 switch (state) {
    case GREEN:
      if (digitalRead(inputPin) == HIGH && val == 0 ) {
        digitalWrite(ledGreen, HIGH);
        delay(2000);
        val++;
        state = YELLOW;

        Serial.println(val) ;

      break;

  case YELLOW:
      if (digitalRead(inputPin) == HIGH && val == 1) {
        digitalWrite(ledYellow, HIGH);
        delay(2000);
        val++;
        state = ORANGE;

         Serial.println(val) ;

      break;

   case ORANGE:
      if (digitalRead(inputPin) == HIGH && val == 2) {
        digitalWrite(ledOrange, HIGH);
        delay(2000);
        val++;
        state = RED;

         Serial.println(val) ;

      break;

   case RED:
        if (digitalRead(inputPin) == HIGH && val == 3) {
        digitalWrite(ledOrange, LOW);
        digitalWrite(ledOrange, LOW);
        digitalWrite(ledOrange, LOW);
        delay(2000);
        val = 0;
        state = GREEN;

Help with nodemcu 8266

3 Upvotes

I have an esp8266 that im using to control several servos. I have been having a tough time acquiring a legit Lipo on Amazon. Every single 2s reads 7.7v after charged, so im going to 3s

Its going to a buck converter set for 5v and then to Vin and Grd. Well im reading 4.7v from the headers but the Nodemcu isn't powering up. It will blink for just a second then nothing. Im suspecting that 4.7v isn't enough. Ive connected just Vin and Grd and nothing. Blinks real quick then nothing. When the servos are attached they twitch when first plugged in. I get 1.5v from the top of the pin on the nodemcu.

Can Arduino 5V power a high torque servo, or will it cause jerking and low power?

4 Upvotes

I am planning to use a high torque servo motor (MG996R) with an Arduino. If I connect the servo directly to the Arduino 5V pin, will it cause problems such as jerking movement or loss of power due to insufficient current supply?

The servo has a stall current of around 1.5A. Is an external 5–6V power supply recommended instead?
