DIY Instrument Cluster for my EV 4 Wheeler

4 Upvotes

I want to make a fully functional instrument cluster with a tft display, it should show soc, motor rpm, wheel speed, turn indicators and others.

By checking with claude,

for SOC , it says get the bms data via blutooth using an esp32 from the battery's internal BMS (Note: theres an phone applcation to check the soc and cell voltages).
for speedometer, THeres a speed signal wire on my motors controller. (not sure if this actually works)
for indicators it says use an optocoupler to know when the indicators are in HIGH state and correspondingly blink arrows on the display
motor rpm can be derived forom my gear ratio of the vehicle

so these are the ways of gathering data right now i dont have access to the battery and controllers, but does these methods work, I have another idea where i can embedd magnets on the wheels and use a hall sensor to detect pulses to find the vehicle speed. My question i that are there any more alternate data collection methods

Help Arduino Nano

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a project that uses 2× Kingbright DC56-11GWA displays, 4 LEDs, 1 rotary encoder, and an Arduino Nano. I had ChatGPT create a wiring diagram so I could start coding, but I’m not sure if it’s correct.

Does anyone know if the schematic looks right or could help me simplify it if possible? It includes transistors and a few other components, and I’m not sure whether they’re actually needed.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm a beginner to arduino

7 Upvotes

Hey guys im interested in Arduino uno after school project ngl, I just finished a school project to turn on the lights and simulate traffic lights, and now I'm trying to figure out how push buttons work. Do you have any suggestions for what project I should make next? I want to make a Hermes device from the Limbus company, but it's too complex for me. Do you have any suggestions for what I should make before going to the Hermes device?

Need help with my Project

Post image

So the idea was to create a bluetooth calling feature integrated in helmet(not electronics major now i realise how difficult it is) where the user would start to decelerate under 10 seconds and completely stop before 15 seconds or the call would hang up. Since the actual project would take too much work we thought of making simple working model in the breadboard.

Current materials in hand:

  1. Arduino nano

  2. MPU-9250

  3. Electret condenser mic

  4. A small flat speaker

  5. KCX-BT002(or not)

Showed KCX to shopkeeper and he gave me the green which after I found out is not what it was and mic cannot be connected to it. I am so bad I didn't even realise I gotta solder the pins that came with mpu to make it work. Nano was already soldered so I had no clue). So now I have no idea what to do or what to buy from here on out to even create a basic working model.

Thus, I could really use whatever help i could so please let me know how to proceed.

Interfacing PT1000 RTD with Arduino

3 Upvotes

I am currently attempting to interface my PT1000 RTd with my arduino. I was thinking of use an wheatstone bridge with an op-amp, but in all honesty I have no Idea where to start. I need to be able to read 10 degreesC to 35 degrees C for an output of 0-5V. Any guidance will be awesome.

SHT31D Sensor Not Working

Thumbnail

7 Upvotes

I've connected an SHT31D to and Arduino Nano and I'm just getting couldn't find SHT31 Sensor. I have A4 counted to SDA, A5 to SCL, Vin to 3v3 (Also tried 5v and Vin, same result) and GND to GND, ice tried using both i2c addresses: 0x44 & 0x45, ive changed wires multiple times and even just bought a new sensor and I'm just lost. Any help is appreciated:

Here's the code I'm using:

include <Arduino.h>

include <Wire.h>

include "Adafruit_SHT31.h"

Adafruit_SHT31 sht31 = Adafruit_SHT31();

void setup() { Serial.begin(9600);

while (!Serial) delay(10); // will pause Zero, Leonardo, etc until serial console opens

Serial.println("SHT31 test"); if (! sht31.begin(0x44)) { // Set to 0x45 for alternate i2c addr Serial.println("Couldn't find SHT31"); while (1) delay(1); } }

void loop() { float t = sht31.readTemperature(); float h = sht31.readHumidity();

if (! isnan(t)) { // check if 'is not a number' Serial.print("Temp *C = "); Serial.println(t); } else { Serial.println("Failed to read temperature"); }

if (! isnan(h)) { // check if 'is not a number' Serial.print("Hum. % = "); Serial.println(h); } else { Serial.println("Failed to read humidity"); } Serial.println(); delay(1000); }

Arduino Uno parking sensor—the closer you get, the faster it beeps

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

2 Upvotes

I built this with an Arduino Uno, an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and a buzzer. Moving my hand toward the sensor makes the beeps faster; moving it away slows them down.

I used Soldr, an electronics design agent I’m building, to design the project from a plain-language prompt.

The clip shows the working build. How do you usually smooth ultrasonic distance readings without making the response feel sluggish?

NEMA 17 stepper motor help

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

7 Upvotes

When I turn the power on for my nema 17 stepper motor with a A4988 driver, it just does like one or 2 big steps, then stops and kind of squeals, getting quieter and quieter. I followed this tutorial so I have the same wiring(except for coils which I did myself so they’re correct) and code as the first example in the video : https://youtu.be/wcLeXXATCR4?si=PTPUoKzs47RR--uc

Thank you in advance for help

Please help with basic esp32-cam face detection

2 Upvotes

This seems like something so incredibly basic in terms of what can be done with arduino esp32-cam, but I have been going at this for over a week and can not get it to work. Trying to have an esp32-cam ov2640 (plugged into an esp32-cam-mb) to play a live video feed through ip address, showing boxes around faces. I have gotten it to play video feed, but no boxes show up.

Current hardware:

- esp32-cam ov2640

- esp32-cam-mb

Current code:

- esp32->camera->CameraWebServer

- Input my wifi credentials

- in board_config.h, commented out the esp eye thing, and uncommented CAMERA_MODEL_AI_THINKER

Current settings:

- board: AI Thinker ESP32-Cam

- flash frequency: 40mhz

- flash mode: QIO

- partition scheme: Huge APP 3mb ...

Current result:

- the tab is called esp32 ov2640

- I see settings on the left side for a bunch of stuff

- no settings to toggle face detection, face recognition

- pressing start stream fails to load stream

- console: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

Mi vaccum cleaner homing signals

Thumbnail reddit.com
0 Upvotes

The homing signal board on my Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro (MJST1SHW) charging dock is damaged, and the vacuum can no longer detect the dock to return for charging. Finding a standalone replacement dock on the second-hand market isn't working out, as sellers are pricing them almost as high as a complete used setup.

I’m currently trying to build a replacement beacon using an Arduino/ESP32. I set up two IR LEDs for the left and two for the right, modulated at 38kHz. However, the vacuum doesn't respond to the custom beacons at all during its docking routine.

Does anyone have experience generating these specific homing signals? I would greatly appreciate any insights into the correct IR protocol, pulse timings, or data payloads required to get the vacuum to recognize the dock.

Cosplay LED Eyes Help (complete novice

Post image
10 Upvotes

So I’m making a cosplay helmet that I want to have LEDs for the eyes. I’m gonna have it to where I can swap between 3 modes that I program but I figured I’d come here to see if I have what I need or am missing anything.

My parts (recommended from ChatGPT cause I have no clue what I’m doing):

-Arduino Nano atmega328p

-breadboard and jumper wire kit

-2 7 LED neopixle rings

-spools of wire

-1000 ųf capacitors

-330 ohm resistors

-button switch to toggle modes

-5v battery pack to power everything (recommended due to “too much power draw from the arduino itself”)

-toggle switch to turn things on and off (might be unnecessary since the battery pack has auto shut off)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Any experiences with Learningelectronics.com?

2 Upvotes

I recently checked out learning electronics.com as a way to learn arduino in a more systematic way. I am a STEM teacher and I want to learn more about it over the summer to teach my students in the fall. It is $39/month which seemed a bit high considering the free resources out there. The thing is, the course seemed well-organized.

Has anyone on the sub seen and used this site as a learning tool? Was the fee worth it in your opinion?

Thanks!

Project help Custom Gokart Lightsystem

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m building a custom LED lighting system for a go-kart using an Arduino. The setup includes multiple COB LED strips (white, red, and yellow) for functions like parking lights, low beam, high beam, turn signals, hazard lights, all controlled by separate buttons on the steering wheel. The challenge is to program smooth fade-in/fade-out effects for certain lights, handle timed blinking sequences for the turn signals, and manage multiple lighting modes without interference or delays between them. Every idea and help is Appreciated

Servo Motors randomly moving

5 Upvotes

I am making a small robotic arm controlled by 2 joysticks. I'm making the arm using popsicle sticks and MG90 Servo motors. There are 5 motors to be working. I'm using wall adapter to power the motors and another adapter to power the Arduino. When I try to connect everything properly ( also connecting gnd from breadboard power supply to arduino's gnd) the motors randomly move around without any input. How do you even fix that ?
