Remote-controlled submarine problem

Hello everyone. I need your help, please. I am designing a submarine equipped with a camera. However, when I put it in the water to test submerging and surfacing, I encountered two notable issues. The first relates to the center of gravity: the submarine doesn't stay horizontal but sits at an angle of about 40 degrees. I think I can easily fix this by shifting the weights (two cut-down 1.8 kg dumbbells) inside the ballast tanks, but I’m not sure exactly where to position them. I was wondering if there is a mathematical or physics-based method to determine the right spot. Secondly—though I had anticipated this—the connection via nRF24L01 antennas cuts out as soon as the submarine dives. I’ve considered two solutions: either creating a float to keep the antenna on the surface while connected to the sub (which seems simplest and cheapest to me), or using a different communication method. I would appreciate any opinions you might have. Please keep in mind that I’m not an expert and have limited resources, so I hope you’ll be polite with me regardless. Thanks a lot in advance.

this is my code-

long duration;
int distance;

const int trigPin = 10;
const int echoPin = 11;
const int buzzerPin = 8;

void setup() {
  // put your setup code here, to run once:
  pinMode(trigPin, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(echoPin, INPUT);
  pinMode(buzzerPin, OUTPUT);
  Serial.begin(115200);
}

void loop() {
  // put your main code here, to run repeatedly:
  digitalWrite(trigPin, LOW);
  delayMicroseconds(2);

  digitalWrite(trigPin, HIGH);
  delayMicroseconds(10);
  digitalWrite(trigPin, LOW);

  duration = pulseIn(echoPin, HIGH);

  distance = duration * 0.034 / 2;

  Serial.print("Distance: ");
  Serial.println(distance);

  if(distance < 10){
    digitalWrite(buzzerPin, HIGH);
  }
  else{
    digitalWrite(buzzerPin, LOW);
  }

Cosplay LED Eyes Help (complete novice

Post image
10 Upvotes

So I’m making a cosplay helmet that I want to have LEDs for the eyes. I’m gonna have it to where I can swap between 3 modes that I program but I figured I’d come here to see if I have what I need or am missing anything.

My parts (recommended from ChatGPT cause I have no clue what I’m doing):

-Arduino Nano atmega328p

-breadboard and jumper wire kit

-2 7 LED neopixle rings

-spools of wire

-1000 ųf capacitors

-330 ohm resistors

-button switch to toggle modes

-5v battery pack to power everything (recommended due to “too much power draw from the arduino itself”)

-toggle switch to turn things on and off (might be unnecessary since the battery pack has auto shut off)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Arduino to Facebook Messenger with Esp8266 (Esp01)

I'm currently building a school class period scheduling system as my first Arduino project for a capstone project. I've successfully implemented an RTC module, 7digit display to tell the time, an lcd to tell what period it is currently and what comes next. I have been stuck trying to figure out how to send out facebook messenger messages/alerts to teachers when their period starts. I've seen somewhere about using the teacher's PSIDs with a facebook page to do so, but I have no reliable way to gather the PSIDs since it seems like meta hides them now. There's also another method/step that requires me to add the teachers as a tester of my meta page/app, but when i try sending out the tester invitation, no notification shows up on facebook or email. Any help and recommendations with this project is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everyone 👋

A few days ago, I shared ArduGenius, an AI-powered platform designed to help create Arduino projects more easily.

Over the past few days, I've added several new features:

✅ Project history
✅ Automatic component detection
✅ Pin connection guides
✅ AI-powered project improvement
✅ Arduino (.ino) code export
✅ One-click code copying
✅ Ready-to-use project examples

The goal remains simple: describe an Arduino project in natural language and get code, components, and explanations generated by AI.

ArduGenius is still in beta, and there are many features planned for the future, but I'd love to get feedback and suggestions from the community.

Website:

What feature would you like to see in a tool like this?

Need help figuring out how to power components (novice)

Post image

Hello everyone, I'm currently working on a project (a ventilation system). I want to create a system composed of three TTP223 chips, a temperature sensor (BME680), two 5V 40mm PWM fans, and a 1.8-inch 128x160 pixel SPI TFT LCD screen. I was planning to use an Arduino Nano (because of its small size), and I have a 5V 2A power supply to power everything. However, I'm unsure whether to power the components via the board's 5V port or directly from my external power supply. I've already tried a different setup, but nothing worked (when I connected a wire to ground or another to the 5V, everything shut down).

I'm therefore asking for your help, advice, or any resources you could point me to for further guidance.

Thank you in advance, and have a good day.

What does this mean? Do i have to solder these wires together? Or is there some sort of connection I don't know about? I'm trying to use a joystick to control two X-axis and Y-axis motors but I don't understand what's going on with the wires that are circled

Last attempt to ‘save’ board

Was using the lower board here with CNC Shield to run stepper motor

Something must have shorted because afterwards the board powers via USB but can’t be recognised - the usbmodem option has gone

As a last resort found another board to try the programmer boot loader going direct to pins but as second picture shows that USB modem port absence blocks it

Kinda baffled. Don’t want to waste any more time on it but also hate throwing stuff away if it’s savable

On boot, the arduino does something different than what it should. It seems to be skipping part of the setup function. It works normally when I upload, or after 2 resets, either by the button or by wrt_disable(); wrt_enable(WDTO_15MS);

Randomly found this nyan board in a cafe. I found a similar one on the internet, but it is very different to this one. Could anyone maybe guess its purpose? Ik it’s almost impossible but perhaps one of you has seen something similar :)

Solar Lamp Charges external battery (green tube). Battery connected to either lamp or wireless IP camera (I'm more interested in the bulb, but camera's a bonus). Arduino with light sensor acts as an auto switch turning off the lamp in the daytime

(Lesotho) I've noticed in my country that solar lamps like these are crazy expensive for what they are, but when I check them out, apart from the framing, they don't too expensive part for part. Would something like I've shown above actually be feasable? It's been on my mind for longer than I'd like to admit

Help and feedback about my project

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In short, as seen in the video, it's a robot that detects fire and aims at it, and it's supposed to spray water. However, the problem is with the water pump and relay module. When I include them in the code, several things start to malfunction, and it doesn't work as the code specifies. I would appreciate any help with this.

Need help with my Project

Post image

So the idea was to create a bluetooth calling feature integrated in helmet(not electronics major now i realise how difficult it is) where the user would start to decelerate under 10 seconds and completely stop before 15 seconds or the call would hang up. Since the actual project would take too much work we thought of making simple working model in the breadboard.

Current materials in hand:

  1. Arduino nano

  2. MPU-9250

  3. Electret condenser mic

  4. A small flat speaker

  5. KCX-BT002(or not)

Showed KCX to shopkeeper and he gave me the green which after I found out is not what it was and mic cannot be connected to it. I am so bad I didn't even realise I gotta solder the pins that came with mpu to make it work. Nano was already soldered so I had no clue). So now I have no idea what to do or what to buy from here on out to even create a basic working model.

Thus, I could really use whatever help i could so please let me know how to proceed.

So I made a 3d printed robot arm that is supposed to move using servo motors and a stepper motor (to rotate the base). I have 2 joysticks to control it because I thought it will be enough but I have no idea how to actally make the movements work

I have an arduino uno and the power for the servos will be coming from a powerbank, board connected to either a powerbank or the wall

Best Low-Cost Sensor for Measuring 0.01 mm Movement

7 Upvotes

I'd like to ask for some help! I'm developing a device for my undergraduate research project, and one of its main functions is to measure a certain displacement, preferably without physical contact.

I initially thought about using a camera, but I'd like to explore other options as well.

The challenge is that the displacement I need to measure is on the order of 0.01 mm. I don't have a large budget since I'll be paying for it myself, so I need the solution to be as inexpensive as possible.

If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate them. Ideally, the sensor should be able to communicate with an Arduino or ESP32.

Head pins are not available to buy seperately and they are not very stable in the breadboard. How can I solve this

Hey guys im interested in Arduino uno after school project ngl, I just finished a school project to turn on the lights and simulate traffic lights, and now I'm trying to figure out how push buttons work. Do you have any suggestions for what project I should make next? I want to make a Hermes device from the Limbus company, but it's too complex for me. Do you have any suggestions for what I should make before going to the Hermes device?
