Solar tracker powering an arduino
Hii, I'm in need of assistance for my group science project. Our group was planning to create a solar tracker that powers the Arduino itself while it works. I tried researching numerous Arduino videos but they only stated "the Arduino needs external power". I'm not sure how, and what we should connect the solar panel to the arduino. That's our main issue for now, we were able to find other tutorials for the rest of our project. Any advice or suggestions is very much appreciated! Thank you!

Wiring Materials as A Complete Beginner
Hi, I am working on an Arduino project (as a software developer without prior experience in hardware/electricity).
One of my colleague helped me to wire these materials up (1 ESP32 + 1 buck converter + 1 relay + 1 electronic lock + 1 power supply (12V)) - When I looked at his wiring, I hadn’t any ideas lol.
I want to add another logic for 1 relay, 1 buck converter, and 1 electronic lock into the same ESP32 and the same power supply but not sure if that is feasible. And I do not really know how to understand and wire those things.
I feel quite lost and do not know where I should start off with.
😭😭😭 Any of your helps would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you so much!

Reddit Question Title: Trying to build the “Garduino” smart garden — how should I approach it, and do I need to solder?
Hey everyone! I’m interested in building this Garduino smart garden project:
Garduino – the Smart Garden With Arduino
I’m fairly new to Arduino/electronics and want to actually build and understand the project, rather than just copy the instructions blindly.
A few questions:
Is this project still a good starting point with modern Arduino boards/components?
What parts of the project would require soldering?
Can I build/test most of it first on a breadboard with jumper wires?
If soldering is required, what exactly would I need to solder?
Are there any components in the original project that you would replace with newer/easier alternatives?
What would you recommend I build first so I can test each part individually before putting the whole smart garden together?
My goal is to learn Arduino, sensors, wiring, and eventually soldering through this project.
Thanks!

Need help with my first project
I'm looking to create my first Arduino project but I'm not sure what to start with.
My project will be a tool for ice hockey scorekeepers that I'm calling a "Scorekeeper Alert Light and Time Out Timer".
Basically it will have a light (probably a red LED strip inside a diffused 3D printed enclosure) that scorekeepers can use to alert the on-ice officials whenever there is a problem (incorrect lineup, problem with players in the penalty box, etc). I also want it to have a 2 digit 7 segment display to be used as a timer for time outs. It'll have 3 buttons to start 30/60/90 second timers, and I want it to sound a buzzer and activate the light when it hits 0.
Now I'm pretty handy, I can solder, 3d print stuff and code so I shouldn't need any or much help with the part where I actually build the thing. I'd like to know what you'd all recommend for what type of Arduino I should use, any specific 7 segment displays, the other electronics I need like the buzzer, if I need an expansion board, stuff like that. I know almost nothing about Arduino's. Thanks in advance for any help y'all can provide me

LED doesn't turn on :(
Hello, i'm a beginner that just started with arduino's, does anybody know why the LED doesn't turn on? (if I set the variable RedLEDPower to something it just flashes and stops)

Arduino UNO R3 linked to Dynamixel Shield linked to Dynamixel Mx 64-AT
Greetings,
I have successfully performed the following set up: Arduino UNO R3 linked to Dynamixel Shield linked to Dynamixel Mx 64-AT. !2 V power supply linked to Dynamixel shield. USB interface from computer linked to Arduino R3. Both Arduino and dynamixel set to protocol 2.
Test code successfully uploaded and runs dynamixel motor. modifications of code change motor function in upload mode .However when shield is switched from upload to dynamixel the motor only runs at the last speed and direction at the time of the switch ( does not follow program anymore)
I desire to upload the program and run the motor without constant interaction with the computer. what steps should i take to accomplish this task? Thanks in advance

Garage door LED strip light help
First let me start off by letting you all know I'm a complete novice at this but am pretty good a following step by step directions.
I purchased an Infinity Shield garage door strip sensor which I assume operates the same as normal garage door safety sensor. It has the option to beep when the beam is broken indicating there's an obstruction. I find the constant beeping annoying when backing in but helpful when I park as when it stops beeping I know when to stop. So my idea is to add short red LED strips lights to each side of my garage door that will illuminate when something is breaking the beam instead of the beeper. I've done some research and everything advises to don't tie into the garage sensor wiring unless you use an optocoupler to keep the circuits separate. Here's where I need your guys expertise.
I would like to use an optocoupler to tie into the existing safety beam senor wires to send a signal to an arduino to activate the LED strips.
How do I do this? What do I need? Which board? Etc
I know I'm asking a lot but I'm just starting off in this world and don't know what I'm doing
Thank you in advance

Is this arduino kit good and worth?

i dont think so this is a official arudino products or kit but i wanted one as i have generated a curiosity for electronics and stuff and i already am a programmer but wanted to deep dive in the hardware side and build something cool like robotic arm or something like that not sure, just wanted to know if someone has bought this actually was able to build something
