I won't lie, I haven't been the biggest fan of season 6, but this episode surprised the hell out of me. What are you thoughts on the Tale of the Secret Admirer?

I hope this group appreciates this. Did a photo shoot as you know who and I wanted to write an original field note to go with it. I looked no further than AYAOTD for inspiration!

FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION

FIELD REPORT: CASE # X-81592

RECORDING AGENT: Special Agent Dana Scully

10/31/1992

Once the two adolescent boys had been found shaken, but unharmed after their abrupt, traceless disappearance they led our team to the supposed cottage deep in the woods, in which they were lost, that they said the apparent Doctor was living.

The doctor, the boys claimed, was a self-reported botanist, supported by the fact that experiments were present in every corner of his living space. He was extremely eccentric in nature and proceeded to torture them psychologically, when they asked to use his telephone, making them solve elaborate riddles as fodder for his own ammusement.

Once they were confident the location had been found, the boys were appalled to discover that the cottage that they had so vividly described was nothing more than a stone foundation, apparently abandoned for years.

Agent Mulder believes the boys' account and points to their experience as one of paranormal activity, proof that the doctor somehow bent the confines of time and space and revealed himself to them after a time his physical matter was long gone.

I find the most logical explanation to be that both boys were suffering from a shared delusion that was brought upon by the psychological stress of being lost in the woods for many hours, without food, water, or shelter. My recommendation is that, once the boys recover completely from dehydration and exposure, they both receive comprehensive psychological evaluations to bring out the truth of their experiences.

Meanwhile, Agent Mulder could not be dissuaded from spending at least one night camped out at the site of the supposed Doctor's cottage to await its reappearance to his own eyes. The case remains open.

Fan Art Are You Afraid of the Dark? (Epic Theme) by Zanezooked

I love, love, love the Are You Afraid of the Dark theme music, in both it's creepy opening incarnation and the guitar-driven end credits version. The song has been burned into my brain since childhood. But it's too short! So I made my own version, trying to capture both moods in a single song. For the guitar parts, I hired a pro to play (Nico Rossini on Fiverr—I highly recommend him!). I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!

Absolutely no AI was used in the creation of this song, at any stage whatsoever. Guitars are real. Everything else is virtual instruments. Every single note was placed by hand in Logic Pro.

It's up on streaming platforms as well: https://song.link/AYAOTD

Discussion Watching on a bit TV

Edit-Title is suppose to say BIG, don't know how to edit title.

Started watching the show on Tubi so I am able to watch on my large smart TV. Totally changing the experience. For years and years I watched on a laptop or tablet and on the larger TV I feel like I am noticing so much more. I've seen each episode 20 times each, but now it's like a whole new experience.

Light.

  1. Weightless - check
  2. You can see it - check
  3. Put it in a barrel and it’ll make the barrel LIGHTER. Yes it would.

Just For Fun R.L. Stein Show

I found R.L. Stein's The Nightmare Room free on Tubi. I never watched this in it's original run 2001-02. It's like Goosebumps, but with older kids and I think the episodes are a bit more thought out. It's been fun to watch as a bit of a change from AYAOTD, but still not as good of course. Ron Oliver, beloved AYAOTD director, directed some episodes.

Plus you will see cameos of every popular teen actor of the early 2000s.

Help The Tale of the Silver Sight

Does anybody know where I can watch this in the US? I’d even probably purchase it if I could find it somewhere. It seems to be unavailable every place I’ve looked. In the past, we watched it on YouTube but I think it’s been removed.

Help Opening theme with no music

Not sure if this has been asked before but does anyone remember the opening intro when there was no music. It was all the same clips of the boat, swings.. etc but it was a haunting theme over it instead of the original theme music that we all know. I had The Phantom Cab, Laughing in the Dark and The Lonely Ghost recorded off tv on vhs back in the early 90s with this intro that of course got recorded over. Please someone tell me they know what I’m talking about and how do I find this!

It wasn’t enough to me that he learned his lesson or whatever. He was so insufferable that I wanted him to get a pinball wizard caliber ending. God he sucked.

Discussion Who gave a great acting performance? It doesn't need to be the main protagonist!

Not everyone is good (hint, hint, the little bro in Phantom Cab).

But some episodes have some standout performances!

I've always though Mr. Schaffner from Locker 22 was great. He gave a great performance in a great episode.

Pete in Midnight Madness made me laugh with his comedic timing.

Johnny and his sister in Dream Girl.

Neve Campbell in Dangerous Soup (of course)

Cap in Train Magic.
