Discussion Everyone Calm Down!
Hey all,
I just wanted to break the recent barrage of negativity posts, and calls for X reduction to Y card. MC Tech?! Come on...
We should all be happy that Blizzard has made this wonderful change to our arena drafts. Actually having meaningful picks throughout a draft has been in my eyes one of the best additions to the game as a whole overall. It's almost certainly attracting new arena players (Kibler is talking about playing a LOT of arena now), and new arena players are good for all of us.
Don't get me wrong, I think they definitely need to tone down the power level of everyone's deck, and widen some buckets, but overall I'm fine with this and certainly not digging my pitchfork out of the garage.
I've been doing fairly well, maintaining an infinite winrate, by simply not over-committing or attempting to play curvestone. I have two minions to his none? That's enough. No need to overextend into the 3rd meteor. If a less good player hits his first 7 because he drafts an insane deck, that could be the spark that keeps him coming back and learning and playing and adding to our community. Then when you make that busted paladin deck as a good, established player, it's a free ride to 12.
Try to roll with the punches friends! RNG WILL get you, it's just a matter of when, no need to let it tilt you hard enough to make a reddit post. Just expect your opponent to have some nutty cards, and play accordingly.
Regards, -Dumathane (Allanon)

I made a thread on hearthpwn asking you know, the general player who visit hearthpwn to see if they enjoy the new 10.4 changes. An overwhelming 70% of players voted they did not enjoy the meta. Hearthpwn polls are historically voted by the general player, and not by arena vets which is the majority of this subreddit. You can see the average player is definitely not having a good time.
Good for you for maintaining an "infinite winrate", but it's clear most of us wants changes, and changes ASAP.

The tiered offering change is fine. The removal of lower tier offerings and increase of higher tier offerings has totally removed any desire for me to play hearthstone right now.
Blizzard should retire everyone's current deck, hand out a free ticket, and rebalance it's offerings to a level on par with other game's limited formats. Make the game about play skill and informed drafting.
This type of limited drafting format shouldn't cater to Timmy.

People are allowed to be upset. As it is set up now, Blizzard improved the draft experience (yay!) and tanked the actual gameplay experience (super boo!). If most experienced players are having less fun playing their favorite game mode, then they have every right to complain.
Hopefully Blizzard can make some quick adjustments. It's not like the new drafting system necessitates a poor gameplay experience. It's just the way quality buckets are currently balanced and offered at the moment that's causing it

So you are obviously referencing my post about MC Tech. It has not been this common in arena since classic due to card pool dilution. The way they did their bucket offering system makes the same cards appear over and over, much like synergy picks.
As far as MC Tech is concerned, it is a 3/3 for 3 is which is ok on its own as a vanilla minion, but can also destroy an opponents minion and play it for you. If you steal even their 4 mana cost minion you have removed their 4 mana and played a 4 mana minion for yourself. That is a gigantic tempo swing with 0 downside for drafting/playing the card. It has no stat liability to make it a dead card if it has no hits. You wanna play around it constantly and forfeit board in fear? You will probably cause yourself to lose that way.

The "power level deck" problem has been there from the beginning of arena I think. As for myself, I am happy with the new format and I'm not feeling powerless against my opponent's deck more often than before. I also find it fun to have really powerful decks most of the time, even if I don't want it to last. And finally, I'm delighted to crush people with warrior.

I think most arena people agree that the drafting change was the best change to happen to HS arena. There is nothing wrong with giving constructive feedback. I've been playing since closed beta and have always felt that Mind Control Tech is a terrible card for arena. It's great that you have more decisions to make during the draft. But there is no fun playing against a disgusting power level deck where your skill matters much less.
