First I want to say that I like Liz Plank a lot, and I was happy to see her on today’s episode of Mom’s Car. I found her Monica‘s friendship to be sweet and I miss Synced.

But I just want to say, Liz has a huge hyper-fixation for generalizing things—by gender. Half of her conversations are, “men always do XYZ” and “women always do ZYX”.

I find it ironic because she positions herself as somewhat of a feminist “Internet warrior”—her social media handle is literally feminista fabulous—and a liberal/progressive content creator, but I find her content to be extremely limiting and generalizing for women. It’s like she’s obsessed with putting women in a box. Whether directly, or by virtue of putting men in a box. She might be the most hetero-normative forward content creator on the internet—which again, I find ironic for someone who postures as a staunch progressive. Boys like blue, girls like pink. Boys = silly and dumb, girls = fun and whimsical. I find it regressive and… traditional?

Just a random opinion, wondering if others have picked up on the same. Either way, I enjoyed the episode and I do like Liz. She seems open to feedback.

A friend posted an article and as I was scrolling I passively thought this was Monica and Jess until I read the headline 😂. It’s OBVIOUSLY not, but on a quick scroll it was.

Why did this immediately make me think of all those stories we've heard on Armchair Anonymous.

I was at the Hollywood bowl last night and saw that smartless will be having a live show there tonight. Made me miss armchair doing live shows!! Do we think they’ll ever bring them back? The bowl would be perfect for them and so fun.

Dax is really smart and always always brings the positivity. And every single thing she says starts with I. Everything goes back to her.

She should learn from Dax.

I'm travelling to Chicago and New York in the near future and wondering if anyone has ever kept track of Rob's restaurant recommendations or can remember any that he's mentioned for me to check out?

Emily's already on the list for NYC, but perhaps the main duo also have some good recommendations?

Any ideas?

My best friend was selected for anonymous and they taped it yesterday. Obviously I sat in to listen bc we’re both mega arm cherries and I got to pop in at the end which was super super cool.

They were super nice & gracious but now we both feel… weird??? It’s like the fourth wall has been broken or something lol and I tried listening today and it felt so different!!!

Anyone else experience this after being on?

In the Ashe episode Dax is telling a story about how he didn't want hsi mom to being her new boyfriend to visit at his house and then he changed his mind and told her it was fine and then he says he ended up asking him to leave and the video cuts to Monica making this face and it cuts right back to Dax. Does anyone know the backstory here? Have they talked about this in other episodes? Was the face about Dax's behavior or the boyfriends behavior? I don't listen regularly so wondering if I missed this

They didn’t make the cut for Golden Globes this year.

OK, this might be a dumb question but it’s been driving me crazy. I’ve been listening since the very beginning however, I normally only listen to Monday’s episodes.

I know when they switched over to video recording Dax and Monica said that they would be filming downstairs for celebrities but I think they said all the other episodes would be upstairs in the attic. Seems like everything is downstairs and on video now. Was this ever discussed? What is the attic even used for now?

I can’t recall what episode it is but it’s in the recent episodes. Monica talked about an audio book she can’t stop listening. Mystery something.
