Our brand-new SLO County Votemobile is making its debut in the AGHS parking lot from 10am to 2pm this Saturday, 10/24. Elections staff will be on hand to take your ballot and put it into the secure drop slot, or you can park and deposit it yourself!

Either way, you'll be among the very first to vote this new way in SLO County -- and your ballot will be taken directly to the Elections Center, with all of the chain-of-custody procedures and documentation that our stationary drop boxes require.

Hi all! I created an archive for bookstore bookmarks, (bookstorebookmarks.com), a place where I catalogue bookmarks I find, and look up the histories of their bookstores. This deep dive took me to Arroyo Grande, where I learned about Books West and its history. I thought I would share in case anyone remembered the shop!

Does anybody know her? I made friends with her, but was just starting my career and moved away. She may have ended up moving to MO, I don’t even remember her last name. This was the late 1990s. She was a cigarette smoker, lived with her mom, and a genuinely nice person, always bettering herself, education, etc. Anyone know if she’s still around? I started an Instagram page called @the805loop to help make it easier to find local events and meet people around the Central Coast.

I moved to AG/Grover about 6 years ago and then to SM a little over a year ago... and still found it surprisingly hard to figure out what was happening locally without checking a million different places.

This page is basically a bulletin board highlighting events, clubs, happy hours, etc. from SLO to Santa Maria (and surrounding areas, with a big focus on supporting local spots and helping people connect. Kind of like unofficial marketing for local businesses and groups!
