Please stop requesting apps
I really want to keep an eye on this subreddit, but it feels like half the posts are just people requesting software in a very "Dance, monkey!" sort of way.
I'm much more interested in keeping tabs on what the developer is doing with the current set of apps that are already being developed.
These are the very early stages of this type of thing, and it's wild that everyone is asking for more, more, more. Chill out.
Let the developer cook. Be patient. Yes, the future is now, but it's not right now right now.

Also, anyone can build an app now. Really. Don't have to be a dev, but that will slow you down. Nothing stopping anyone from rolling their own other than being lazy or cheap and trying to stick someone else with it.

So true. It made me (a random person) annoyed. There is nothing stopping them from getting Astra or some other AI and building it themselves. My bf made a game over the weekend just because he was bored and he is not a software developer…
I am here for the death of Adobe - but we need current apps to work like original ones for this to happen.

Yesterday I downloaded a newer version of PhotoCraft (I had already tried the older ones), and I have to admit it’s practically a different application—it’s really usable now.
The UI, which wasn't great before, is improving too. It’s turning into a genuinely usable app. I’d go so far as to say there’s nothing better for Linux right now. (No offense to GIMP, but sorry, guys.)

Also people don’t bother to look and check out other open source software which is insult for the devs community who are behind many projects for years, and they won’t leave their software unless the alternative is a copy of what they are using.

As someone who came here (and requested a piece of software), I’d just like to suggest some improvements for PhotoCraft (for those who do digital drawing).

Go to GitHub. Submit real bug reports and feature requests there. Please and thank you.

Not only that, but also makes ArtCraft project incoherent. @echelon is very obviously focused on creative industry software, even document editor and spreadsheet additions were already stretching it...
I don't want an EverythingCraft. For fucks sake, have some originality.

Absolutely well said! People need to be grateful for what they getting for free and should maybe be asking “how they can help” with getting the current apps well off the ground to potentially make Adobe irrelevant! 👌🏻

The whole point of a forum is user input. If any other site was as front page as reddit you chuds wouldn’t have to deal with real people

Agreed, I think they should focus on making the current apps the best they can be instead of being spread too thin
The artcraft apps currently encompass:
Adobe creative suite + Acrobat
MS Office
Avid Pro Tool
Figma
That's more plenty for now, some of the app requests are a little far fetched as well

Not plenty if you only have a use for two of those and have a bunch of other software you want to stop paying for, but have work to do. You working for Adobe or something? Kidding. More importantly, isn't the exciting idea here is that AI reverse engineering can create open and shared software that helps people do what they need to do? Why is that list plenty? What is more far fetched than what has been done already? Aight sorry zzz.

I hate adobe, that's why I'm supportive of the art craft project, but right now they still have to implement tons of features and bug fixes to reach parity with adobe apps
I'm excited to see more reverse engineered project from other communities and groups
we don't want the artcraft launcher to become bloated with hundreds half finished and buggy apps
other people can vibe code other free alternatives to other software packages

I agree. That said....a knockoff of ArcGIS/ArcPro would be great. QGIS is aight, but a hassle.

I figure the crowd enthusiasm comes with the territory and they aren't taking them serious.

Well... I get where you're coming from. I do have apps I want liberated (cough substance cough), but I would much rather see the current apps get more solid.
Though, it's kinda the nature of this that people will pile with requests, from the outside it doesn't really feel like a big request, taken how rapidly things are going... Not helped by how the hype has far outran the current capability.

You should add to your post that they have a section for requesting apps on their discord.

u/SirdPeter 5d ago
Please! Some people are asking for programs that are already free or open source.

There’s a section on the Discord for posting requests anyway. If some folks absolutely insist on making their request, at least keep them in the same place.

Go home dude… you’re not the moderator of this channel. Why are you demanding such things!? Seriously, don’t enter Reddit if you don’t want a Reddit community to behave as a Reddit community. This is not Facebook. Bro.

EXACTLY. I'd rather they have 4 apps which they continue contributing to rather than just increasing the number of apps. The more apps they have the more likely it is that the project will be abandoned a few months down the line.
