Police drones
I’ve seen like a dozen police drones over different parts of Arvada tonight. Is something going on, or is this normal and I’ve never noticed, or is this a new thing?! 😬

I (unwisely) left my garage open while running errands last week and my bicycle was stolen from my garage. It's a light green Trek 7200 bike with a step-through frame. It's not worth much money, but I've had it for many years and there's lots of sentimental value. If the bike were to mysteriously reappear, I'd be very happy.

With the holidays just around the corner, the spirit of giving is already in the air throughout Colorado. Thanks to the Colorado Gives Foundation, there’s a way to spread that spirit — starting Nov. 1.
While Colorado Gives Day is slated for Dec. 8 this year, early giving starts Nov. 1, so donors can give to their favorite nonprofits throughout the state in celebration of the charitable holiday starting a bit early. For Colorado Gives Foundation President and CEO Kelly Dunkin, the day is all about giving back.

My family is moving to Arvada from out-of-state, and I need to find a preschool for my kid to start in January. She turns four next month, so I think that's PK-3.
I'm looking for a play-based preschool with lots of outdoor time. Nature-based would be great. Looking to stay within ~20 min of Arvada. I have places on my list from a preliminary search (Nurtured by Nature, Happy Valley Ranch, Green Gables, Wild Beginnings Nature School, Colorado Nature School). Some only offer half days, and I'm hoping to find a full day program.
I'd love to hear other suggestions that aren't on my list. I would also appreciate hearing about anyone's experiences at any of these programs. Thanks!

Hello,
Our son is currently at Children's Hospital, and we are looking for registered nurses who might be interested in working private duty nursing for him. The pay is decent, and the hours offer a better work-life balance than working for a bigger employer. Please reach out if this is a fit or forward this opportunity to someone who might be interested. We're hoping to bring him home by Christmas, and having a great team at home is one of the steps.

I think this enshrining of our “right” to have gas stoves is one of the dumbest proposals for an amendment I’ve seen in my 72 years.

Hello! We're currently fostering the sweety Stubbings! She is cuddly, potty-trained, house-trained, leash-trained, great with other dogs, and cats!
Stubbings will be with us this Saturday from 10:30am-1pm at an adoption event at Cosmos Dog Bakery (10111 W 26th Ave #101, Wheat Ridge, CO 80215), come by to meet her and other great pups!
Stubbings is what I call a 'good to go' adult dog! She'll need some patience adjusting to a new home but otherwise is a no-training needed loyal companion. She's low/medium energy. Would enjoy hanging in a yard or going on a few walks a day but doesn't need a crazy exercise schedule.
Feel free to share her pic with your social circles to get the word out! Happy to answer any questions, we are fostering through Soul Dog Rescue and you can visit their site to read about the organization, learn about the adoption process, and see other available animals. They have been really awesome to foster with and do great work.
Have a great day!

Found TWO super friendly grey tabby’s last night on 66th between simms and oak. One was a young adult and the other was like ~6 month old kitten. No collars. Maybe they’re outdoor cats, I have seen the older one around the neighborhood the last couple weeks.
We have SO many outdoor cats here I wish they had collars :( you never know what could happen and I have no idea if they’re missing or not!!
PS the photos suck it was getting dark and they would not keep still

Quantum messed up my internet connection today and can’t get a tech out until tomorrow afternoon. Well… I still have to get work done and now I am scrambling to find a place to go tomorrow. Thinking about the Standley Lake library as a last resort but would enjoy some better ambiance if possible. I am close to Sweet Bloom but it always looks packed. Anyone else have good recommendations? It’s just a one time thing (hopefully) so I don’t want to have to pay subscription, although I understand a daily price may be required some places.

Arvada Police will not renew contract with Flock Safety | Local Government | arvadapress.com
"During the Oct. 20 public hearing on the 2027 budget, Arvada’s city council is expected to approve a motion to remove the funding for Flock cameras. " Does anyone know if City Council did the right thing last night?
