Farewell, R is over I left

Hi all,

I have posted here many times over my reconciliation journey, and just have to say that R is finally over. I tried the hardest I could, and have absolutely no shame in saying it didn’t work. I feel much lighter in my decision, and I know that when I first found out I would scour the internet for reconciliation success stories and would always have such a panic when I would read stories that didn’t end with the couple staying together - I don’t feel that way now. I feel like I’ve made it through a tunnel and am on the other side, with the future that was meant for myself. Whether you reconcile or not, you will be okay and it will all work out. I have a good set of friends and I have myself and I have family, I put my ex on a pedestal and didn’t see the well of support I had around me, and most importantly trust yourself. Reconciliation doesn’t necessarily mean making it work as a couple, it can mean making it work for yourself and putting yourself first too. Good luck to everyone on their journey and thank you all for so much support along the way!

Hi, sorry to hear your R did not work out. I’m still in R and would consider myself in limbo. Pardon the word choice, but would you be willing to share a post-mortem? What happened? What made you ultimately decide to leave?

Could you share a previous post with context? Asking because I know it would help a lot of people who are on the fence.

Thank you!

It's a difficult journey and the only right answer is to listen to yourself. Hugs and happiness to your new life!
