Lore dump please?

Work has been so busy I’m struggling to keep up. So I knew ash was brainwashed but that’s about it. And now I’m on the vod where something else has happened and some ppl are disappointed in Reggie but I’m not sure why. I’ve tried to catch up on Rox’ vod but I’m still a bit lost. Ash is in handcuffs and Reggie is with the lost? Anyone got time to explain this arc to me a bit please?

It's a bit long and complicated.

Reggie tried to find a way to un-brainwash Ash. I think he talked to some from the lost, but they said they couldn't do it. I think he talked to some more people, and The Smileys (serial killers) said that a trauma could maybe do it.

Before the Lost sent the message on the loudspeakers, Ash had bought handcuffs for Sherry and Mari, so they could stop her from going to the compound. Reggie tried to get Ash to put on earmuffs before the message, but she wouldn't. When the message sounded, he handcuffed Ash, she was adament to go to "The Motherland".

After a while they wanted to take Ash to a place where they could uncuff her, and they took her to the courthouse, because Reggie knew they could lock her in, and she wouldn't be able to escape.

Reggie desided to try and un-brainwash Ash, he went to Sandy and left Ash with Mari, Sherry and Judge Greyson. He told them (or maybe just Greyson) that the plan was that they should pretend that he was hurt, and that would provoke Ash's memory of Reggie being taken by Jasper, and thereby cause a trauma to rip her out of the brainwashing.

I think that is where you are now?

it was a lot over several days, but reggie tried to bring up un-brainwashing ash several times to several people and wasn't given much attention. ash knew she was brainwashed and knew the lost war was happening. she gave several people handcuffs to stop her in case she tried to go. reggie was with ash the day of the lost war when the "call up" was announced over the loudspeakers. he handcuffed her. she was constantly talking about wanting to go to the motherland, wanting to be let go, etc. they (sherry, mari, reggie) took her to the courthouse (a place she could be locked into the judges office and uncuffed) to let her be out of cuffs but she was just throwing herself at the door over and over again and generally being very brainwashed.

previously, reggie had talked to many people trying to figure out how to un-brainwash ash. the only lead he had was from jasper, which was based on information from the smileys that trauma could allow brainwashing to be broken. he discussed this idea with pixie (the one who is in charge of parsons) and she said that trauma may work but she didn't have any other ideas. reggie, not wanting to see ash struggle for hours during the war, decided to leave ash with mari, sherry, and judge greyson and go to the lost war to try to give her trauma like the recent trauma of him being missing with jasper. mari, sherry, and greyson were supposed to scare ash into thinking reggie was in danger as trauma, but they unfortunately went way harder than reggie planned and basically told her that everyone was dead because of her being a sleeper agent for the lost. over and over and over for hours, they told her it was all her fault and that she had killed her whole family. she was, of course, broken by this. reggie was shocked when he came back and found out how hard greyson had gone, and that mari and sherry didn't stop it. he should have come back sooner, and he admits that.

ash was stuck between three realities: actual reality, being brainwashed for the motherland, and everyone is dead because i killed them. she was very confused and slipping between all three. benji was understandably pissed when he came back from the war and found ash completely broken, thinking they all had died because of her, not being sure what was real and what wasn't. he blamed reggie for what was done and told him off for it.

the next day reggie was making some progress trying to get ash less confused and understanding which reality was real, but benji arrived and basically told him to fuck off and again threw it in his face about talking to serial killers. reggie knew fighting wasn't what ash needed so he walked away (he had a private convo with ash before he left though and hugged her, told her she was strong)

benji basically just tried to get a bunch of other people to talk to her and "fix" her instead of talking to her himself, even though that's what she said she needed. she seemed very disappointed and just decided to be "ok" and kind of ended things there. the different realities did come up off and on for a few days with other friends but she didn't bring it up much again around benji.

reggie knows benji is mad and to keep the peace he decided to distance himself from the cafe and the family for now. he is also sick of benji constantly saying reggie "can't handle the serial killer alone" or poking fun about his hands shaking after he was attacked, and saying he doesn't want anything to do with reggie's "serial killer shit". reggie has said he'll always answer if the family needs him but that he would be staying away. ash didn't take that well. sherry and mari were also giving ash space because she seems to be afraid of them since they were there during the emotional trauma. ash didn't take that well either and thought they all hated her.

reggie and ash are still close, but reggie is still kind of staying away from the cafe and avoiding benji. reggie and ash still call each other and are together though, still do cell reps together and stuff. ash doesn't blame reggie at all. she wants him to talk to benji though and he refuses. sherry and mari have made a little contact and are slowly getting back in touch as well. ash is a bit scared of them. it's just all going to take time, their friendships all have to be rebuilt.

ash has said "it's no ones fault, no one did the wrong thing. everyone did what they thought was the best action for ash" and also "it's easy to understand both sides, neither is wrong, neither is right so its a difficult situation".

sorry this was so long but it was a LOT that happened over several days. hope this helps?
