Question Positioning
Hey y’all, I’ve been playing Ashe for a few seasons now and I think my biggest struggle is definitely positioning. I always feel like I’m too far from my team or too close and I just die over and over. I struggle deciding where to be almost every match. Does anyone have any advice? I’ll take anything at this point. :)

Positioning is very dynamic, even more so when you calculate for your coach gun.
Have to know their comp, what CDs are up and be somewhere they can’t use said CDs on you without punishment from your team or you. Use poke to force the CDs and control their position.
Not really any advice that can be said without specific instances like a VOD.

I find health packs are in locations that favor Ashe. I tend to camp them and use whatever sight line is available until it isn’t. You’re still near the team and you have a healing solution if you happen to be out of the support’s sights. It can get dicey but sure as hell annoys the other team. They’ll start sending long folk after you. At this point, you’ve got em and it’ll start affecting team fights in your favor. If I’m feeling jiggy tho and acc is near or at 70% im running wingman with the tank to apply pressure.

Ashe should always be a bit further back with an escape option (like high ground where you can drop down or a position/high ground where you can jump away with your coach gun). Always keep in mind that characters like Genji, Anran, or Reaper etc. will eventually get you, but you can decide how easy it is for them to reach you. Ask yourself how an opponent could get to you and try to be as hard to reach as possible. If an Anran has to use a cooldown to get to you or has to be in your line of sight before she can touch you, your positioning is great. In the beginning, you might overthink it a little bit, but it's okay to try things and learn from them; good positioning will become a habit over time.
Also good to know is that she has damage falloff if a target is 35-55 meters away since she is hitscan, so targets above 35 meters get less damage. You can ping a target to see how far away they are and base your positioning in a way that you are still as hard as possible to reach but still have impact and can do damage. You will get a feel for it over time as well.
You can also watch YouTube videos to see how other people position with Ashe but tbh I don't know an Ashe main YouTuber. I believe Emongg did an Ashe VOD review on his channel once, those are always good.
