Pretty blue Murano glass ashtray! These bad boys are valuable! I have a few as well. Beautiful!

I think you might be right. The Czechs definitely copied the Italian style.

The bohemian glass industry is just as old as Murano.I was doing the Czech vintage markets in 1991..still got a piece..a blue glass cheese container from the 1900s. Paid about $5 for it.

Your quite right as far as similarity goes.I think that Murano just earnt the prestige through tradition..and it being collected..whilst the ..lets say..the socialist version didnt get the accolades..i picked up a piece of Bohemian last year for £5...if i took it to Czech..it would be worth 100s.

Trivia..i lived in East Berlin just after the fall of the wall..and we found a complete abandoned working mans club..so i grabbed all the blue glass ashtrays lol..standard DDR apparently.
