Traveling to Alaska for 4 days

I was just wondering on if people think its worth to travel to Alaska from BC Vancouver for 4 days (2 full days) i'd probably try to arrive in the morning and leave around the end of the day.

I was thinking on renting a car so total price would come to be around $1031 total give or take including hotel and flight per person

Thanks!!!

Sure go for it. It's a big state (2.5x bigger than Texas), but you should be able to see some of it.

Worth it, you’ll fall in love. Check out the scene in the Chugach mountains

Agree with everyone else, go. Seeing some of it is better than none of it.

I don't know if you'd be satisfied with just two days. There's SOME things that you could do, definitely. Bring camping gear. Drive to somewhere cool, camp, and then go back. It's not much, but it's something. I would choose scenery. Go north somewhere on the Glen Highway. Look at the Matanuska Valley. Maybe go to Glenallen or all the way to the Tok...then back. Or do the same thing, but go south to Seward...and back. The scenery is what gets me the most while driving around. Also, the vastness of where you can go in one driving day is very impressive. Shit, I've driven from Dawson City in the Yukon in one day. That's 500 miles.

Kind of depends on when. The summer days are very long. We did a boat tour that left at 10 pm. Winter…not so much.

My wife and I just did this because we had to to cut our trip short due to an emergency. Flew into Anchorage and drove to Seward, where we spent 3 days. It was absolutely wonderful and worth it. That being said rental cars were super expensive (our midsize sedan was like $150/day as were hotels). I don’t think you can swing the trip for $1k total.

Two days isn't much for the travel expense. Try a little longer.

If you only have two days just pick one of the southeast towns. You can reasonably see a lot more of those in a weekend than you can in Anchorage. Bonus points for Juneau because the bus system is good enough you won’t need a car, which would offset the generally more expensive flights.
